Roland AC-60 Amp - 03/20/18 07:58 AM

I saw a keyboard player/singer in a lounge/Bar the other night using a Roland BK9 arranger kb & The AC-60 amp and let me say it sounded amazing! He mounted the amp on a stand just behind him up just over his head, the sound filled the small room with no problems,.....later we chatted on his break and the one thing he told me was that although typically an acoustic guitar amp he enjoyed how it performed sound wise, Roland Power output specs are "true" not some bumped up wattage claims most others advertise...this AC-60 in Stereo has some balls for sure I was impressed, easy to travel with the Roland carry bag, and perfect for you NH players too..

Or for bigger venues look at the other Roland KB amps for your needs..

I've had a Roland Cube 100 bass amp for a while, all kinds of eq on it. But I'm darned if I can get it to sound halfway decent with my Pa3x.

Bass amps need higher freq, tweeter/horn etc,...

Oh for sure, Donny. But the range of adjustments on this amp you'd think I'd get at least something usable from it. I bought it used 'for a song', so no great loss. I'll probably donate it to a local youth group.

Roland keyboard amps have the worst reputation in the industry. That's just a fact. Check Keyboard Corner, a lot of real Pro's over there. I have personally only owned the KB500 but based on that, I would have to agree.

I always let MY ears tell me the truth..
like this great Roland Classic..I used a JC120 in cocktail gig venues for a while many years ago and it was wonderful.

Do you know the difference between a GUITAR amp and a KEYBOARD amp? I SPECIFICALLY SAID, "ROLAND KEYBOARD AMPS". READ, ABSORB, RESPOND. It'll save you a lot of knee-jerks.

fortunately I do chas I have used alot of gear not specific to it's immediate purpose try it sometime, especially with sound amplification units, what they are made for and what we use them for is another story, I once did a wedding with a
Roland A37 controller https://www.roland.com/global/products/a-37/ Roland Discover 5M https://www.roland.com/us/products/discover_5m/ & Two Roland CM30's https://www.roland.com/us/products/cm-30/
.....there are so many workarounds that really can be a big asset for the needs your looking for to get your creativeness on for sure..
....carry on cool2

It still amazes me how GC and other retail store have their demo keyboards through a single crappy guitar amp on the floor - how uninspiring. Half the time, all the instruments are turned off or not even hooked up at all. I used to frequent these stores, but basically drive by now. Talk about junk?
