Thanx for sharing..makes me remember why I sold my S970,.....nothing excites me about the S975 they could have done so much more but were probably more concerned about Boosting the genos hype this time around,..but good marketing strategy for Yamaha to get rid of old stock, & parts, change the model number, add a few styles, for who knows whats next for them to release.... sleep

I guess it is a some sort of overlooking that demonstrators are usually show a cheerful and bright side of a keyboard rather than a dark, aggressive or a sentimental one. As I see it, it makes a keyboard seem cheaper.

I do not really see a point for frequent upgrades. It seems that at least two generations can be safely skipped.

After all, PSR-S975 appears as a really solid product in the market right now. In general, I see as a major achievement of today’s PSR’s that they went far away from “MIDI type” of sound, and styles do not sound mechanical. In the same time there’s still a gap between any arranger and the sound we are used to hear listening to the radio, watching movies or TV. That’s why I do not share a point of view that there’re no bad arrangers left – I see a huge way to go.

Yamaha played fair naming this keyboard S975. No big promises.

agreed but I think the strategic move was to push people who were eagerly waiting & then dissapointed for a new MOTL unit,... to buy the much more expensive genos lets face it wink
