Roland Sonic Cell..., good used price???? - 02/26/18 11:45 AM

What's considered a fair price for a Roland Sonic Cell in good condition. eBay can be all over the place at times with prices.

I bought them several times. Here in Germany, a fair price is about 200-250 Euros from a private seller, or around 300 from a commercial seller with 2 years seller's warranty.

I kicked around the idea of getting one for years, but never did. I always liked the versatility of this module. It’s still a very good sounding module IMO.

It is, and the main reason I use it are the two SRX expansion slots. I like the Roland SRX expansion library a lot.

Squeak, here is an ebay link (you've probably already checked it out). https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4...mp;_sacat=54235

I have one in like-new condition which I don't use because I have a Fantom G7 (and a BK7m and VP770 (with SN sounds). The buy-it-now prices seem to range between 300-400.00 plus shipping. I'm not a haggler but if you want one in a known condition, you can have mine for ....uh, check your mail.

Don't you have the Integra-7, which has all the SRX expansion boards built in? Why have the SonicCell, too? Just curious. smile

No, I used to have one, sold it a year ago for 1,050 Euros, as I have to finance several expensive medical procedures. At the same time I'm starting to switch to software libraries. I currently have one SonicCell with SRX 02 and 06 and a MoXF.

It would be interesting to know which software libraries you're getting, and how they compare to the SRX-06 Orchestral board, and the string sound libraries you have for your MOXF, if you still have them. Thanks for answering. smile

I’ve always liked the concept of the Sonic Cell. It really is a great hardware option to CPU heavy VST’s. My MOXF-6 can function the same way, but the Editor program is a PIA to use because Yamaha doesn’t let you “in large” the image. It’s so darn hard to see when runnning the program like a VST. Roland got it right with the Editor for the Sonic Cell (which they also used on other models..., including my old Juno-Di).
