Why buy another arranger if you have a pa4x?

I have never seen anything in adding a 2nd arranger to a setup
I prefer a keyboard with a different formfactor..
Like stagepiano, 1 manuall organ, synth, workstation..

They all offer much more then adding 2 arrangers...

Bachus this is the first time I am calling myself a home player in 62 years. My view is no longer setting up a keyboard for a job; it’s more like how I will enjoy my music. (it feels strange)

So I have decided to start with two toys; exploring and experimenting – and back to creating and recording.

Wow how things change, I feel I am going to walk through a new experience. The only thing I am sure of is that it is going to be fun, John C.

I can’t speak for anyone else having 2 different brand arrangers. I have a PA4x-76 and an s970. NO I don’t play them together or stack them. We do however spend winters in sunny Florida and it’s easier to take along a 61 key s970 than it is to pack the PA4x. I have a passenger type van that’s roomy but packing it in with all the other items we travel with limits the space. What doesn’t help matters is we travel with 2 dogs and their related gear we’re packed tight and on occasion I’ve added a roof top carrier for the trip. I enjoy having both arrangers.

Until last year, I always had two arrangers, but the second arranger was identical to the first and was a backup - Can't have enough backups when you're playing music every day for a living. However, in all those years of performing nearly every day of the year, I never had a Yamaha arranger keyboard completely fail on me. And, if you folks recall our departed friend Hank Bowman, he had a PSR-2000 that had a drinking problem. Apparently, the keyboard enjoyed the taste of vodka tonics because two of them were dumped into the keyboard with no ill effects. smile I guess booze isn't as bad for me as the doctors said. wink

As said, as a homeplayer, having 2 boards has its advantages.. as long as the lower board is an arranger... its perfect...

The only reason i can think of to have 2 arrangers is if the first one isnt a Yamaha and you want access to the whole collection of yamaha styles.

Bachus you have read my mind.

"The only reason i can think of to have 2 arrangers is if the first one isn't a Yamaha and you want access to the whole collection of Yamaha style".

Different type of sound and styles, styles, styles. Sounds happy.
