Nice little unit. Great size for gigging and sounds good too. I use the piano in my Fantom G7 in my recording studio and the piano in my BK7m or VP770 (which I use as a controller for the BK7m) in my rehearsal/practice studio. They're all good enough for ensemble playing and blend well with the organ and horn backings that I prefer. If I were a better pianist, I'd definately invest in a quality stage piano. I do have a very nice Yamaha acoustic in my living room.
You may be right about it being competition for the Privia but I'm guessing most hard core piano guys will opt for 88 keys.

Roland does have an amazing Piano lineup. Better sales on products could mean cheaper prices versus better quality...

I bought that RD64 and returned it quickly. The range of sounds was very limited, the tone was dark, and it had an unusually heavy action, even for a weighted feel. I had finger fatigue after 2 hours on it. I tried a Yamaha P255, and that was better, but it was too big ... I landed on the Korg SV-1 in Red Metallic - ...... I'm home.
