Got a PA 4X...perhaps another TOTL arranger - 05/19/17 04:32 PM

Even with problems, my PA 4X and I have bonded....no interest in selling.

It's time to add one more arranger for my gigs...got an S970...unfortunately doesn't hack it long term for me,

Ketron SD7 or Audya

Or

Tyros 5....don't think I'll wait on Yamaha for the next mysterious arranger entry.

Got shout outs to:

Devon at Sweetwater,

Frank at Audioworks

and AJ at Amjamsonics.

We'll see who wants to deal.

I flew to Singapore on Wednesday to pick up my pa4x 76. (Probably a bit over ambitious for a 1st arranger but ???)
Now wondering if I've bitten off more than I can chew. It's an awesome keyboard and the sounds and styles are incredibly realistic. It's going to take me a while but what fun.

You'll love it John! Give it time. It seems daunting at first, but gets easier. Korg has some excellent video tutorials.

Just took my new PA4x76 on the first gig last night. What a great board. My initial arranger was a used Korg i3 in 2009, followed by a PA50, and then a PA500 in 2011. When I compare what the PA4x does, compared to the Gibson 101 organ I purchased in 1968, it's hard to believe how much more you get for the investment. I paid $1,000 for the Gibson organ in 68, and at the time a new Ford Mustang list price was $2,700

Why not add a Ketron sd40 ... its less then 2kg and can be added to any keyboard you own... even you dgx 650 at home..

It allows you to take those grest ketron styles everywhere you go

John,

The PA 4X is outstanding. You'll bond with it, give it time.

But in the end you realize what the heck am I doing and just settle down and make great music with what you choose as most have everything you need already,......spending the time to dig in and edit and customize your sound is a necessity, there's no free ride when it comes to giving 150% to your audiences every single show.

Good advice.
