USER DIRECTOR Pa4x Question

USER DIRECTOR Pa4x Question - 03/22/17 02:36 AM

I spent two hours last night listening to the styles in my Pa4x, awesome – they have to be the best I have heard.

“USER DIRECT”. I read some of the posts on a Korg forum, but they totally confused me. Anyone using it and how???

Actually there is two parts, user banks, which can be loaded from a whole set of user created Korg styles.

And then there is direct sound testing, you can assign any banks of a set to the direct maps. It works like a charm when you are used to this way of using, however, still cant compete with Yamaha's way of handling USB sticks.

When in user direct mode, you can use the pulldown menu in the topright corner for setting the map for direct playing of styles from usb stick

Backus I have “Set List’ and User/Direct. My understanding is Set List is used for making sets from the songs in SongBook with the instrumentation and style. Set List can also saves Songs and Midis.

User/Director is to set up the instrumentation only; no styles. It enables you to select instrument from both the Factory and the user section.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
Is there a another way of using Set List and User Director?

.set is not the same as the set in setlist..
.set is the last part of a file on your PC in which you saved your user styles, sounds, keyboardsets, songbook, and so on

Watch this video, at around 2 minutes they explain what user and direct is...

You can set the direct acces map in the top right corner...

The user and direct parts are available in styles, sounds and keyboardsets and work in the same way
