PA 4X users a question - 07/16/16 07:17 AM

I bought my PA 4X as a demo model. I plan to do a factory restore and update the OS. Which of the latest versions of the OS is recommended? 1.2 something?

And I'm sure the update comes with instructions right?

Hi,
I gather this goes for the pa4x as well as my pa3x,
If you've done any work on it, like loaded user styles, or changed the songbook etc
Do a "Save All", so that you can load those items back in if required.
An update will take it back to new .

Be sure to load resources after you update, as instructions say!

Don,
others have also suggested reloading resources after an update but where do
you find the PA4X resources to reload? Unless I missed them I can't find them on
Korgs website.

The ones that you hopefully saved before the update.

The new resources are included in the installation package, but they are not automatically loaded. Just follow the instructions. Nothing additional needs to be downloaded.

I went to Global then Utilities. I loaded Resources from there. My set lists were reloaded...was there something else?

Ok, they should have said reload your backup - makes more sense. It sounded like they meant to reload all the factory resources.

No the Resources contain new stuff, sounds and maybe styles. It's a strange way of doing it, but does allow you to update the OS WITHOUT loading the new sounds and styles, if there are any included.

It seems they have sepperated the OS and the datapackage (sounds, styles, songs etc etc..). So seems you need to update both in this case...

From an IT point of view, this is a smart move..
