Looking for amp/spkr info - 01/27/16 02:17 PM

I know we've covered this topic often, but asking again: Does anyone have any EXPERIENCE with the EV ZLX P12 powered 2-way speaker? http://www.electrovoice.com/product.php?id=2583
What else might you suggest as a stand alone amp for an OMB?

I'd really don't want to get into arguments, but would like to consider something other than my Bose Compact (I also have a Nano 300, but don't use it and may sell it for an EV).

I used to have them. And I guess for that money not bad. I was usually using them as monitors. Also few small gigs I just brought them and they did the job. It all depends what you need. To me I would get them instead of compacts. Even next to L1, but that's just me. I hate how Bose sounder in general.

I auditioned a Fender Expo this week. It is somewhere between Bose Compact and Bose L1 with sub. It sounded terrific. A little heavy for me at 52 pounds total, but it sure was nice. It is exactly like Muai 11. (NOT Maui 11 Mix).
It's for sale for $500., but I don't think it's the right fit for me.

I've just played with a pub band using the 15" version of these speakers and I thought they sounded very good. I had a small fiddle with the built-in eq and it seemed usable and not too extreme.

The Fender looks like a great choice among a long list of great choices! Mackie started the Powered "Active" Speaker wither the original SRM-450. QSC... EV... RCF... Yamaha... Bose... HK Audio... FBT... Peavey... Fender... All great companies with great selections.

I really like the Yamaha DXR10 speakers for sound, flexibility, power, warranty, and weight for the price. The cases/bags are very good too! The DXR series is a great all around speaker and fits almost all of my situations. Add a sub and the system rocks!!

Next purchase for me? The Bose F1 system... 2 subs and 2 tops with 4000w and all under 199 lbs!!

OR the HK Audio Lucas Nano 608i might be nice to have in the mix of available speakers.
