Tribute To Phil Everly

Tribute To Phil Everly - 11/20/15 04:50 PM

It's been a couple of years now since we lost one of the icons of pop music, Phil Everly. In response to my "Don and Phil" post on another forum, Don Mason wrote,

"Very nice Don. I shared a plane ride with Don and Phil between Memphis and Nashville years ago. They were very nice guys. They would love your cover!"

I'd like to think they would enjoy this tribute that I wrote when I heard of Phil's passing.

God Bless,
Don Reeves

P.S. Thank you Don M., for stirring my soul tonight!

Hey Cal,

Thanks for listening and responding to my post. As you may have gathered from my You Tube presentation, Don and Phil were a very big influence on me and my musical journey. Their close knit harmonies inspired the Beatles. They were indeed a wonderful duo.

God Bless,
Don

Nice job Don, The Everly Brothers inspired me as a young kid musically also, I still do many of their songs, like the 1960's hit "Let it Be Me" & others, .......if I had to say anything I'd cut back on the Reverb a bit on the vocals.

Happy Thanks Giving
