Hard to believe, but the Ravens actually won a game yesterday. If the Ravens had a defense equal to what they had when Ray Lewis was leading 5 years ago, and a similar offensive line, we would be in first place right now, instead of dead last. It's amazing what a difference that just a few players can make. And, yesterday, we lost one of our best wide receivers to what could be a career ending injury. Steve Smith Jr., with 16 years in the league tore an Achilles tendon. This is a tough loss for the ravens.

All the best,

Can anyone name a team who held an opponent to 10 or less points this year. It must have happened at least once maybe twice eh. There is no more defense. You can't bump into this guy etc and after another season or two you'll only be able to touch the QB and the play will be dead, no rushing the kicker, just free punts. 2-3 minutes rest between plays , no more hurry up offense.
How many of you here even have a clue that from hiking the ball to the whistle blowing the play dead is just about 11 minutes of actual live play in a football game? As a matter of fact before all of this passing when it was 3 yards and a cloud of dust the experts said it was about 6 1/2 minutes of actual live action per game in the 60's was the first time I heard this shocking statistic... Chas knew this I bet, and maybe Diki. All of the Eagle's fans hadn't a clue. Am I right? Uncle Dave and DNJ want to argue with me on this one. I bet! haha!

You're right, Boo. I was thinking the same thing myself on Sunday. C'mon - TAUNTING - 15 yard penalty. What a bunch of wusses.

Maybe they'll start a WNFL (ie. WNBA) and then later have the two leagues merge.

I made 20 on Bengals, pushed on Saints and lost on Packers. Like kissing one's sister.

boo ... I had heard this statistic many years ago, as a sports writer in a NY newspaper actually timed the 'action' of a game.
As for penalties, this is why I laugh when I hear younger people - and even the (over)analysts on tv - say "so and so -usually the quarterback- is the best EVER ... 'back in the day' QBs took a beating, but not today ...
Granted, today's athletes are bigger, stronger, faster, and some serious injuries occur, but they don't get mauled and held the way they used to ...
