The fantastic Funk Brothers and Joan Osborne...class all the way.

When the season is dark, bring the light of your reason.

When the season is cold, bring the warmth of your love.

When the season is difficult, bring the ease of your generosity.

And when the season is once again bright, warm, and easy,

Keep bringing your reason, love, and generosity,

For they’re needed year round.

Season's Greetings to all!

Donny, Tony, Russ, DonM, and all the rest of you frustrated, closet, Big Band players. I think you all should have a NON-ARRANGER JAM where everyone brings his original, pre-arranger instrument (in the spirit of Xmas, we'll even let Fran bring his accordion smile ). We can hold it in Arranger-neutral territory (my house; I have a drum kit and a new 'geetar' for Russ to try). After the jam, everyone can return to their boring Arranger existence........Kidding, kidding - put the pitchforks down.

Seriously though, it IS nice and thoroughly enjoyable to hear really good ensemble playing once in awhile. Makes us remember some of the best days of our youth. For one thing, we only discussed music and women, never religion or politics. Oh well.

]We got whiskey and women, music and smokes, it's out where the cowboy folks do the boot scootin boogie.

Sorry Chas, I'm not going back to bein' a guitar picker again - them days are gone forever! wink Besides, I sold both my guitars and guitar amps.

Cheers,

Big bands are GREAT! I play with the philharmonic and a large traditional jazz band whenever I can.

Arranger playing is not 30% of my work.

You show remarkable restraint, Russ.

I'd be very disappointed if I used my precious Tyros4 so little.

In any case, it's good to see you are still actively giggin' (and hopefully pickin' and grinnin' too!)

Donny great find – real music. And that statement is not directed toward arranger keyboard.

I may bring my KMA to my neighbor’s house; we were invited.

I miss playing on the holiday.
