Regular club gig...24th year. Go to the school where I fund the guitar club in Louisville in the afternoon. Gonna hear a concert (yea) by 20 kids; all under 10 playing guitars.

Earplugs, anyone?

Nah, I won't get jealous - I have more than I can handle right now. I stopped at the jewelry store where I do a special Christmas sale job for them every year and they just added a couple new ladies there. Photos to come after the December job.

For Halloween I have a double, a one hour job at an assisted living center, then a 7 till 9 p.m. job at an upscale retirement community in their nite club, complete with a costume parade. The old man at the keyboard will be wearing his bright orange satin shirt, black silk vest, black slacks - gotta look good for the ladies. wink

One Halloween gig … my least favorite – don’t like most of the Halloween ‘appropriate’ songs … Monster Mash, Ghostbusters oooffaa …

That's why I don't take Halloween gigs ... I'd rather be at home giving out candy ... wink

I've got a one hour gig at a retirement, assisted living house. Didn't really give much thought to Halloween songs; maybe I should add a couple... like???

Man, Nigel, I forgot how good these guys were. I remember playing 20 minute jams of this with a jazz/funk group. The musicianship is outstanding.

Shows what you can do with a different kind of three chord tune.

Thanks for the find and reminder.

Re: Who 's Giggin' Halloween? - 11/01/14 11:12 AM

I had a ball, double yesterday. The first job was at an assisted living facility where I only had to do 1-1/2 hours. I kicked off with Witchcraft as well and never looked back.

The second job was at an upscale retirement community, had about 90 people in the room where I performed, and there was another party taking place at the facility's nite club, which holds about 60. The costumes were absolutely incredible, and there was a costume parade, during which I performed "Thriller." They loved it, especially when I did the Vincent Price segment with my bullfrog voice. Even had several visitors up dancing to Thriller as well, mostly youngsters in their 40s. Kept the place lively with lots of rock and roll songs from the 50s to 70s, but interspersed with some shoo-bop songs from the 60s to keep the dancers on the floor.

As the song goes, Oh What A Night,

Gary cool
