PSR 910 and TC Helicon Voicelive - 07/18/14 05:13 AM

I am trying to configure the two, but some harmonies seem a tad off(no not me). I want to make sure the S910 is set up properly for left hand chords.

It calls for global CH 1(usually default). The S910 transmits: L-CH 3 but I assume this is parts and not global.

You have to see which midi channel is chord 1 or 2 or even pad...You need one that is in all your styles.Than on your voicelive you set that channel for midi..Make sure your voicelive is in chordal harmony mode...Actually if you want to make your harmonies sound better, than you should go to scale mode. It's much better and harmonies are more accurate. But, for each song you have to set a harmony scale..

Set the keyboard on Function/MIDI/KBD & Style.

If the voicelive setup is anything like the Harmony-M, you will find there will be a couple buttons on the voice live that must be pressed simultaneously in order to access the setup feature of the harmonizer. Then it's just a matter of playing a full chord on the keyboard, and the voice live will find the keyboard, set the appropriate channel, which is then saved when you exit the voice live setup feature by pushing those buttons once again.

Thanks guys

I am digging into it to see why my S910 sounds better than my Voicelive. Ain't no way.

Big weekend for Gary, we will wait until after .

I would have been attending had it not been for distance and short duration. It is sure to be a blast, however.

I found the problem in tracking my left hand chords. I realized that I had transposed the S910 and the VH was not reading that.

Playing in the new key or switching to scale in the VH would be cumbersome.

Any other solutions.

bernie try these settings shown in the video on your Yamaha....just stop the video when you see the settings and make changes to your unit VH settings.. I have been able when needed to use the S950 VH2 without the use of external VH boxes...using this with just some minor tweaks of my own.

Bernie, over the past couple weeks, I've performed some jobs using the S-950's onboard harmonizer - it really sounds good when tuned and tweaked. It will be a few more days until the keyboard comes into the office so I can post the settings, though. I have way too many jobs, and now I'm sailing on my days off. Consequently, I don't get the time to play with the keyboard and write down what I've done to make it sound the way it does.

Good Luck,

Thanks Gary

I have many workarounds in the meantime, including the S910 VH.

Donny
Thanks for link. That is fine for keyboard VH on a Tyros 4, which is more advanced than mine. All good info nonetheless.
