Beautiful Col! Great sound, great effects, pitch is right on!
Love the arrangement. Never call attention to a mistake. I wouldn't have noticed! smile

Col, I enjoyed the chord changes. Very good, I do this tune also with a Lawrence Welk type style. I'm going to do it with a Bossa style like you also. My ear bent just a bit on the bridge on the vocal melody. You're playing the correct changes, so I'm wondering why you change the melody with your singing. Perhaps you're working around the higher notes. I play this in Eb but I transpose it to Db. It is one of the harder tunes because the melody range is wide. I have the same problem with Friends In Low Places and I've Got You Under My Skin. The melody note's range is wide on these two tunes also.

I enjoyed this very much. You have a nice voice and you do sing in tune. Bravo

Col,

Highly enjoyable and the overall sound is lightyears away from your efforts only a few years ago. Carnegy Hall is awaiting you to perform smile

regards,
John

Thank you Gentlemen

I'm not taking credit for the backing, it was a Michael Buble track cost me £1.50 this is the real one.

You're right Boo I copped out on the high notes in the bridge when I started trying this song now I can't get the proper version in my head.

I've only started singing over backing tracks since my lessons started it's a whole new ball game for me. I suppose I should now be posting on a vocalist forum LOL

Re: Any signs of improvement ? - 06/07/14 08:15 AM

Col if I'm being honest here,.....I'd say your vocals are really improving in many ways,...I would however suggest you try to make every song you sing "YOUR OWN" by inflecting little ad-libs here and there and changes to the lyric delivery as to create a style of your own and Not to sound exactly like the original recording making it "karaokeish". Also choose the "quality" of you backing track versions very carefully as many really are low quality.
But all in all Nice job with the singing on this tune one of my favorites.

BTW check your email.. cool2

PS have you given up playing keyboards or your mixing the two with singing tracks also now?

Cheers Donny, something constructive as always,

Re: the keyboard, I'm only doing a few small NH jobs now so I decided to carry as little as possible so the G70 stays at home.

Re; the singing, I'm (We're) concentrating on breathing and tone for the moment, I feel we're making progress. Once I'm happy with my technique (to many bad habits developed over 50 years) I'll move on to the finer points.

Thanks ever so

Col, there's a real possibility I may have to retire next year. If that's the case, then I would highly recommend you to take my place. I know it would mean moving across the pond to the colonies, however, it would also mean 300 plus jobs a year for you. You have really improved vocally, and you would fit right in with my audiences - I'm confident of that.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Gary

Praise indeed, unfortunately I retired 7 years ago and only perform for fun now but thank you for your kind offer LOL

My wife and I have always enjoyed our trips across the pond but we are now firmly rooted in my home town and birthplace Garstang.

Kind Regards

Col

Col ... really nice job on a song near and dear to my heart as it was our wedding song 50 and 1/2 years ago ... I also perform it using one of the bossa or cool latin jazz styles on the Pa900 ... I sing it in C and transpose to Db for the last chorus ...
