Youtube 2 MP3 - 04/23/14 12:30 AM

http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ seems to be the best free service now for extracting Youtube.com soundtracks to MP3 you can download.

Nigel.........I don't know why hardly anybody thanked you for posting this, but, I personally am glad you did. I love watching the old dances (Charleston, Black Bottom, etc) on Youtube, but I have to go down to the library and use their high-speed. I tried your site on a couple of videos, and where it would normally take about an hour for me to download one video (with dial-up), now at least I can hear the music within minutes!

And it seems to work flawlessly. My only comment on the program is that I wish you could pick the speed you want instead of the 128. But, heck, it's free and efficient......what more can a "Charleston" aficionado ask for?

So glad this makes it easier for you all. Previously I had used other websites but they became a pain in the a**

I too thank you Nigel.
I have no trouble since I learned to properly truncate the URL copied from Youtube selection. Now, I just have to think of tunes I can sing or play over, which could be difficult seeing the melodies are sung or played already.

If nothing else, I can put break music in my KB's

Re: Youtube 2 MP3 - 04/25/14 02:28 PM

I don't know if this helps anyone.......I "right-click" over the link on the Youtube page and click on "copy link location." Then I just paste it into the "http://www.youtube-mp3.org/" page.

This program is wonderful.......stand-alone, no installation, no registration, no information required.....BUT, I'm wondering what's in it for them? There seems to be no advertising to support it.

Best free lunch I ever had!

Mark, maybe you have some sort of ad blocker. When I go there I do see ads so I guess that is how they make some revenue. But you are right it really is a great free service. Nice and simple and no hoops to jump through like some sites that offer a similar service.

Eddie Shoemaker turned me on to this site about two years ago - I thought all of you would have known about it. It's a great only product that really works quickly - I love it for learning new songs.

It is such a great way to get MP3s of songs I need to learn with my cover band.

Just happen to read this thread.
I did not use the link that Nigel suggested so have no first hand experience but was wondering if you folks are aware of the three FREE programs offered by FREEMAKE, among which freemake video downloader. This allows you to download a YOUTUBE film in different formats, either as an audio or as a video and in different qualities. I can really recommend it to all of you.
I also use their Freemake Audio Converter and Freemake Video Convertor, all with great results.

regards,
John
