Tyros 5 Barrtmans demo.....why why why? - 02/14/14 09:08 AM

Would he use a SINGLE X stand that is clearly shaking and swing around during his performance??? confused1 It takes away form the quality of the demonstration when the KB is shaking back & forth.....they haev all the best PA gear, lights, etc, etc, on stage, ....why skimp on a X stand? weird..
btw T5 sounds amazing.

Yeah, certainly looks like an oversight there. A double X stand or the one made for the T5, anything else a little more stable than that set up. A $5,000.00+ keyboard and a $39.00 stand frown Who'd of thunk blush Maybe the platform he is playing on has something to due with unstableness. Great demo and player though,, the T5 sounds great. clap

because it looks cheap and distracts the eyes during the performance, no need for that looks as though its gonna fall over forward, especially with a 76,.. whoever was in charge of the stage setup is responsible imo, should of promoted the Yamaha L7s....I'm sure Peter doesn't enjoy rocking the boat while he plays either.

Doesn't look like it bothers him, though. Maybe his stand was left at home. Been there, done that. smile

I tell you, the stand yeah could have been a bit more steadier. Peter Bartman's wow, great performance! The Crowd? what a tough audience. Rude! should have stopped people coming in after the start. I looked at the faces and expressions, my god i think even a bomb wouldn't have moved that crowd! Dead from the neck down

I could care less about the stand - his demos are the best of the best, and you can see that he absolutely loves what he's doing every minute of the demo. Peter has an incredible grasp on every aspect of that keyboard, and I really love watching his demos. I, and I'm sure that many forum members, only wish we had his incredible enthusiasm and talent.

I could not get over the "zombies" that attended Peters performance. One guy in the front row looked like a statue
with absolutely no reaction at all to the great music that
Peter created. Peter was excellent and produced a great
performance to a "dead" audience. I think I would have
quit after the first song. Yeah, the Yamaha stand would have
been nice and stable, adding quality to his demos. Lloyd

Maybe they did not believe was such a great music. Not everyone has to be so taken with the western and latin styles.

Most of the keyboard players in Balcans are into a very specific ethnic traditional music. The "modern" genre is not so much their preference. Most likely you'd have the same "zombie" attitude if you attended their performance.

I believe that's actually the reason why Yamaha will demo it's top instrument in this part of the world - to try to break the Korg and Roland (but particularly Korg) supremacy. I don't know if they will, but Tyros 5 seems to be their best bet yet.

Me, of course I enjoyed Peter's performance, but I tell you, I was surprised to see that music demoed and not the local genre. Anyway, I think at one point he actually mentioned there will be local musicians demoing next. I am sure the audience was more excited to that!

The tougher the audience...the sweeter the applause.

This product is not marketed to the working man. It is actually marketed to the retired gentleman. And those people interested in this type of keyboard generally have the money to back it up !

I doubt if most of the punters in that audience were retired.

Pretty sizable crowd all the same...must have been a lot of punts tied up at the dock.

Peter always puts on a first-class presentation and the Tyros5 is, by all counts, quite an impressive instrument.

Re: Tyros 5 Barrtmans demo.....why why why? - 02/15/14 11:35 PM

That's the beauty of economics bill . You see you don't have to sell to most of the audience , just those with the desire and finance to buy your product. If there were just 5 people there with the desire and finance to buy the T5 and they went ahead and purchased , that would have been a great result . However you forget we were vicariously part of that audience and I bet there were more than 5 people who fit the profile in the actual audience and who have watched it subsequently . That's why I am confident that demo helps sell a boatload of T5 to the target market that night and even those it was never intended for .

Looked to me that only a few had pulses, let alone money in their pockets, any money they have we probably sent it to them.

Re: Tyros 5 Barrtmans demo.....why why why? - 02/16/14 08:21 AM

Just like to add,, the shaky stand nor the audience, hampered Bartmans performance in anyway. He is a real professional and I'm sure Yamaha are very thankful to have such a talented person. He is the full package, exceptional musician, has the personality and humour to be a great clinician/demonstrator. He certainly showed it here. smile My favourite tune was the last one he played "SkyFall" Super job!! By the way,,,where exactly is this place where he is performing? keys

I am sure there is a meaning to this, but what is it exactly? I didn't understand.

It was a presentation in Romania. Great performance indeed. Peter seems to have enjoyed playing to this crowd. Thankfully he does not feel offended by their attitude, like some of posters here. Hey, maybe there is a reason he is a Yamaha presenter!... wink
