Nice job Col. One of my favorite songs. Kris Kristopherson is probably my favorite writer of (mostly) country songs.
Great use of the harmonizer!
It wasn't much country when Janis did it though!
. . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Col, you gotta buy a sailboat and sail west so you can team up with Don Mason in the sunny south. You'll do just fine down there. BTW: Happy Birthday from another old country boy.

Gary: That is praise indeed, to play alongside the "Special One" wow that would indeed be an honour and a privilege, also I'm sure a barrel of laugh's.

BTW I have owned several boats in my time, In fact my wife and I lived on a 60' steel barge for five years, my studio then was 6' X 5' a bit tight, wouldn't have got the G70 in LOL

Picture attached of my favourite, 42' Dutch Steel cruiser with twin diesels.

Kind Regards

Re: New song for my Birthday - 02/13/14 12:18 PM

Nice looking boat, Col. I would be a live-aboard in a heartbeat, my loving Doris of 51 years says absolutely NOT! And, of course the added benefit of a sailboat is that the cruising range is unlimited, but you won't get anywhere in a hurry. 7 knots is top speed, even in ideal conditions. So a trip across the pond would take me about three weeks to get to your neighborhood, and that's if the weather conditions were conducive. However, every time I've been to the UK aboard a Naval vessel, the weather always seemed to be a bit rough to say the least. High winds, towering seas, difficult access to sea ports - guess I'll stick to the islands with palm trees and turquoise colored water. They're a lot closer too.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Hi Gary

We now live in a Timber Lodge in a sort of retirement park and last night we had Hurricane strength winds from eight o'clock in the evening to midnight we rocked about that much I thought I was back on the boat again.

BTW This is the boat we lived on "Sundowner" 60' X 11' weighed in at 26 tons.

Wow! Pretty incredible boat, Col. Why did you decide to move off the boat and onto land again?

"The Special One" ?? First time I've been called that, but I think I am flattered. smile
You are welcome jump in that boat and come on over anytime you want. Once you get to the mouth of the Mississippi in New Orleans, just head North til you get to my house!

Gary: Came back ashore after I got sick, the lady couldn't manage the boat on her own, shame, we originally had the boat built to go to France with but we never made it.

Don: Unfortunately the boat wasn't built for crossing the pond but it would have been great. North up the Mississippi sure sounds more exiting than north up the Lancaster Canal. LOL

John: Missed the bit about the Dutch, as you know the best steel boats in the world come from Holland.

Good job and Happy Birthday Col. Judging from the above I can see why you went country! grin

Usually in country music you lose your wife, your house, your car and dog (not necessarily in that order wink )

Cheers!
Brian

And the flamin' boat now as well, it would seem. rotf2
