Glad I now own both of these keyboards. I don't consider either better - just different with a different approach and sound.

I think we are lucky that each company has a different approach to sound...choice is a very good thing to have.

Back in the early days, it was Moog, Sequential Circuits, Oberheim, ARP, Yamaha, Roland...each having it's own character.

There were those in one camp, those in another...things haven't changed much much like nowadays other than a few new names and a few that fell by the wayside.

You sold your BK-9 Deane? DonM has just acquired one, I believe. wink

There isn't a hill of beans difference between the sound of styles on either machine. However, I do like the guitars better on the Yamaha, while the piano sounds a bit fuller on the Korg.

I agree with Gary. The s950 piano I heard here is much better than any stock piano I have on my s950. Yamaha has never done the piano justice on their arrangers AFAIC; they are nothing like the stage piano sounds. I liked the Korg piano sound this time around. I used to think Korg was worse that Yammy, but not on this A/B.

I liked that Korg smokey sax better than the Yamaha too.
