OT my friend on The Voice - 10/28/13 11:51 PM

Cole Vosbury from Shreveport/Bossier - He's the son of a very good friend and talent, and the grandson of one of the great vocalists from Louisiana Hayride days. He is multi-talented instrumentalist and great vocalist. Check out his performances on Youtube or Itunes if you get a chance.

Great singer!!.....too bad he lost the knock out round,.....
but luckily he was saved by judge Blake Shelton for the live shows.

On a live show the (hip shaker) my term for any kind of movements, gestures so on and so forth will win every time. Ray Charles would have had a hard time on a live hip shaken contest in his day too. My two cents.

There are few, just a few exceptions.

His vocals should appeal quite well to the younger crowds.

Actually his vocals would probably appeal to most anybody, but the songs he has done so far appeal to the younger set.
He knows every Hank Williams and Merle Haggard song ever written, thanks to his grandmother Nita Lynn, and father Robin Vosbury.

Cole did well again tonight! Judges were saying he has a chance to win it all. And he hasn't even played guitar yet. He is probably the best lead guitar player I've ever heard and I've heard most of 'em. Before that I thought his dad was.
Sure, I'm a little prejudiced, but I know great pickin' when I
hear it!

Heard Cole tonight singing Rod Stewart's Maggi May. He was fantastic. Such a great singer. He did accompany himself on acoustic guitar. No matter how he does on this show just having this sort of national exposure should seal his future as a performer with the sort of talent he has. And his ecelectic image with the long hair and beard is very memorable .... so cool. It appeals to me anyway.

You used to be but you are over the hill!

OVER THE HILL, YOU SAY! HELL, I CAN'T EVEN FIND THE DAMN HILL, never mind climb it!

Thinking of switching to a uke; damn gitfiddle just too heavy!

You think a nursing home would give a discount to a def uke player?

After all the hell you've given them, you're not welcome at the nursing home. Better hope the big O takes care of you. smile

Don't despair, Russ. Just turn up with a Yamaha - no jazzin', though. smile

Guess I'll just have to starve, then! Not an immediate problem, though. I can live of the "fat of the land" for quite a while.

Looks like this kid has done very well!

He has it made now. He's ALMOST hoping he doesn't win it all, because they more or less own you for a year if that happens. He has already had some great offers.
