ZOOM H4n problem

All of a sudden the H4n doesn't show me the 'MODE' option to record 4 channel or MTR - it worked yesterday - ... anyone ever have this problem?

Well, I had tried a Factory Reset, turned the unit ON/OFF a couple of times, but no luck ... then no sooner do I post the 'help wanted' above and I turn it on and it is SET to MTR ... we'll see what happens when I turn it back on tomorrow ...

did you take out the batteries?

A couple things come to mind. First, is the storage card full? That can cause a problem when it is, which I inadvertently discovered. I had to put the SD card in my PC and delete the file in order to get it to work properly again.

And, as Donny asked, did you remove the battery? Sometimes, especially if the battery contacts become the least bit corroded, this can cause a problem because the voltage is below operational level.

I was running on AC current, not batteries BUT -in trying anything and everything, I did just 'rotate' the batteries while they were in the unit ... ?!? ...

The card isn't nearly half full right now, and when it is it gives me a message ...

Tony, I had a corrupt file knock mine down once. Maybe try saving everything and formatting the memory card.

Never had this yet, but any time I get a power interruption, I do a reformat of the card. They can be tricky little SOB's!
