S950 NEW on/off POWER Button - 02/06/13 05:27 AM

Just wanted to mention the Yamaha S950 has a newly designed ON/Off Power button...
unlike the S910 that had a stiff "Spring Loaded" type the S950 has a more digital soft touch rubber button that with just a very light touch turns the unit on or off. At first I found myself pushing the button down too hard till I realized it was different, the display is extremely bright and very readable in low light situations also....lol cool2

I found that you had to hold the button down longer to power up. No big deal, but it was an adjustment to make. I wish they didnt puy the transpose buttons so close to the tempo buttons - that's a potential nightmare, when you're in a hurry!

This is currently being done with many, many systems, primarily so you don't inadvertently turn off the keyboard when accidentally touching the power button. Same holds true with cellular telephones, GPS systems, etc...

I like that the power button is recessed also.
