Saint Paddy's Day coming up in just a few short weeks, and no Irish Jig style. Not even one! Boy, are you in trouble. wink

Time for DNJ to go with the flow and buy a PSR-950. smile smile smile

Have you tried looking for PA2X styles, Donny? Or even earlier Korg's?

It might be a bit soon to expect PA3X styles to cover all the bases...

But, with your willingness to use MP3's, perhaps next time you trade arrangers, you record the best niche styles' songs as audio backing tracks of the old one.

I use the TARANTELLA style Variation 2 with Variation 1 thrown in every so often for a change.

After some conversion testing of Irish Gig styles from other sources which didn't exactly fill my needs,....especially Yamaha conversions to KORG as predicted, I realized that the KORG PA3x factory Tarantella style is so generically useful variation 2 @ 121 tempo is a great dual purpose Irish Jig/Tarantella etc, style. The Multipads add alot of authenticity to the overall sound also,....with some Sound changes to the STS using sound combinations from other factory CELTIC/SCOTTISH styles, Highland bagpipes, Recorder/Flutes, Ocarina, Accordions, etc, & EQ & Vol adjustments I have it sounding AMAZING. With a little time & effort all is well....
so bring on the Stout & Jamisons!!

rolleyes

When I was with the band in NY we would play about a half dozen St. Patty's dinner dances the weekends before and after the holiday ... I loved the bagpipe bands and Irish step dancers that would come in and perform, but I REALLY do not like corned beef and cabbage ... rolleyes

I used to marvel at the Irish accordionists playing for the step dancers ... the songs seemed to defy convention in that there was no discernible chorus/bridge/chorus but the accordionist would stop playing - seemingly in the middle of a passage - and the dancers would stop right with him ... grin dance

I made a recording with the "jig" style on the PA3x for MusicalMemories. Can anyone post it for me? I only have dial-up.

Thanks
