Maui 11 & Maui 28 by LD Systems - 12/17/12 08:10 PM

Has any tried out the Maui 11 or Maui 28 by LD Systems?

They look good but much cheaper than HK Audio Soundcaddy and the Bose Tower.

Good specs, 200 watts, but doesn't tell you whether this is peak or RMS power. Weight of base unit is 61 pounds - kinda heavy for any of us old codgers, other than Diki and Fran. wink

Spec sheet pdf says RMS pwr 200W. Yes, too heavy for me; why not use class D amps instead of A/B in this day and age? Weight should be part of the "compact" marketing approach.

Hello Chris,

I have the "Dave 8"-system for home use.

I am very pleased with this system, very nice sound, with lots of power.
Don't be scared about the price, LD-systems make very good sound-systems for a more than acceptable price.

I heard the Maui28-system at the music-faire in Frankfurt. Very good sound system for podium use. The smaller Maui 11 is more for home, or smaller venues, but with the same soundcharacteristics as the Maui28.

Regards,

Carlo
