Nedim ... don't know how I missed the fact that you are in SI NY ... I was born and lived the first 42 years of my life there ... where are you located?

I am by Victory Blvd and Ricmond Ave, close to the mall, when did you move outa here?

1984 ... 20 years after 'the' bridge opened and the mass exodus out of Brooklyn to SI started ... it was bad then but I don't believe how bad it's gotten since ...
... lots of farmland when I was growing up ... the mall was a small airfield ...
Sunday afternoons included a nice drive along Hylan Blvd ... now it's like a suicide run ...

Well now its a lot worst, what is Farmland? lol...i never seen one, at least in SI.

I left SI in the mid 70's after seeing what was going on there ........best move I ever made.

Born and raised in New Brighton ... lived most of my single life (got married at 22 ) about 5 minutes from Curtis High School ...
My last house was off Richmond Rd. in Dongan Hills ... company move relocated me to RI ...

This is bad...and they say Sandy got a little stronger, i am a panicky person
by nature but i also feel bad for people south of me, especially NJ which might
be worst then here in NYC...i am on second floor so the Wind kinda worries me a lot.
I taped all the windows which i know it wont help but i guess for peace of mind.

The wind is picking up slightly here, i don't know how bad we will get it

Some good news now is it that it sped up at 25-30 mph now,
it was at 13 before, at least now moves faster with less Pounding.

Large outdoor bin garbage bags. Two per keyboard. Put the keyboard in one, stand it up and put another over the top, seal with duct tape. Good for if they are in a case, as well.

DNJ is in Toms River, NJ. Looks like they too a direct hit from the brunt of the storm.
Sure hope everyone is o.k. I talked to him a few hours ahead of the worst part, and they were o.k. so far.

Damn...that was scary, especially for us, New Yorkers. Uhh...its sad too,
few lives were lost here on Staten Island too, especially in 2 situations
where father and son got trapped in a basement and also a woman, her kids
were taken out of her hands by water, gushing, and never found them yet.
