Selling My Tyros 4???

Selling My Tyros 4??? - 10/12/12 09:50 AM

Seriously thinking about selling my Tyros 4. For those here who don't know, last month I had very serious Cervical Spin Surgery. For me there is no option but to consider a lighter keyboard like the S950 and PA600. I can't let it go until either of the other two keyboards arrive but if anyone is seriously interested in a very well cared for used Tyros 4 you can email me.

Thanks Donny. It has so far been a real struggle. Docs tell me it will be 6 months to a year yet before I will feel normal again. Right now I can do no heavy lifting and had to cancel 3 months of gigs - bummer. Main issue is I have little to no energy and it does not take much to wear me out. But as they say - this too shall pass. By the way, I have both the Pa600 and the S950 on order and plan to use them in the future for gigs.

Deanne just turn this down time into a BIG positive........
get the new KB's,... master them one by one. or together and before you know it you'll be feeling better and excited about getting back out there in the trenches and making people happy with your music. dance2 I predict you wont miss the T4 much either in time....good luck buddy! keys

Thank you Donny - that actually is my plan - a bit of reinventing.

Good luck, Deane...I had to go to lighter gear a few years ago, after abdominal surgeries...the S910 was no problem, and the S950 is only a tad heavier, and should be okay, as will the PA-600.

All the best in your recovery.

Have you considered a partner? There are still a fair amount of duo gigs out there. Two to hump the gear is better than one. You take the light stuff, he takes the heavy (as if a T4 is heavy, LOL).

Diki,
I guarantee you that some day when health fails or injuries occur you too will think the T4 is heavy.

Nope - won't work with anyone anymore.

Tony,
My wife and are are putting together a trip now for late April to start in Manchester and work our way to Scotland then Ireland. Of course, all this
depends on how well my recovery goes.

Tony,
there are three Yamaha Owners forums UK based. Each has an annual meeting. Two are in Skegness and one is just outside Manchester. My wife and I have been making the trip to the UK to attend these affairs since 2009. We have made some very good friends and have totally enjoyed our visits with them. The events run from Thursday-Sunday usually. During the meetings there is a chance to learn a lot, share what you know, do some playing, and listen to others, plus just have a good time. We usually use these visits as a jumping off place for our Europe vacations.

Deane
There are many before you that have shed a desirable keyboard for one of lighter weight. I sold my Kn7000 and a Tyros3 for the same reason. Donny is right on, the new keyboard – once you get used to it will add to your enjoyment/fun.

Deane each health issue I have gone through has left me stronger and more knowledgeable about my body. You’ll take care of yourself – treat yourself well within your new limitations and in not to long of a time feel you are on top of the world again.

Because I went through my health battles with a good attitude I am able to say that I feel better than I did five years ago; and I have good energy when I give myself enough rest.

There’s lot’s of good life ahead my friend, John C.

I never lift my G70. A dolly and leverage technique means, other than the case to the stand (and I always place the flightcase on something a few feet off the ground, so I don't have to dead squat the thing from the floor), I rarely ever get the full weight.

Anyway, as I have said long ago... I bet some of you have grandkids that weigh more. You honestly telling me you never lift them up?

If you love something enough, you find a way...

Boy Diki are you out of touch about health issues.

John,
I am doing PT twice weekly now and will limit any gigging to once weekly for now. It doesn't take much activity to stiffen my neck and shoulder muscles to the point of being painful.

Hammer, sorry. The post wasn't directed at you specifically. Just at the general 'Lighter is better, even if it isn't better!' school of thought here.

I know there are several who COULD lift more.
