New Pax3 Owner - 08/05/12 06:22 AM

Hello!

I would just like to share my joy today. I finally brought my Pax3! Very happy but I know I have a lot to learn about this beast. I have attached a Pic but not sure if it will work or not.

All the best everyone!

Matty,

There's a real good chance that next to Kabin you could be one of the youngsters on the Forum.

The only thing I would let my i30 go for would be the Pax3 or the PA800. I don't know a thing about either one. I'd have to spend a week down at the store with each to make a decision. Unless my brother hits the lottery, then I'd get both. I'm jealous.

Oh! And now I'm mad. I just noticed and counted the sliders. It looks like it has a couple more sliders than my i30. If it has more sliders than then the PA800 I wouldn't' waste time with the PA800, I'd just walk in the store and get the Pax3.

From the very get go with my i30 I couldn't understand how a professional could play a supposed to be pro arranger with two sliders. There must be some big secret to doing that that no one's told me about yet.

Boo, not only does it have more sliders, but each slider has two three main functions, plus two assignable lists of functions, depending on the position of a switch.
Don't waste time on the PA800. You would love the PA3X.

When I looked a the picture above, I first though, hey, that's me. But then I saw those flabby abs and those sagging muscles, and though, no, I'd never let myself slip into that sorry physical condition.
Enjoy your new keyboard Matty. It should last you for many years to come. All new OS with major upgrades is due out in September. FREE, of course. Korg is a great company.

Don,
If I ever get back to Lousyana, will you let me sing a Jazz tune with it.

I want to do the playing cause now I know 5 chords. OK?

Yeah! Way to go, Matty. For sure, you've got a learning curve ahead of you, but read that manual back to front, or at least the quick start version to begin with, and you'll be on your way in no time.

Korg is a winner. I wonder what Yamaha will come with to compete.

Matty,

Looking at what you had before on your avatar the Pa3x is a vast improvement, the avatar looks like it came from Maplin.

It's really very easy to predict what Yamaha will come up with. They will make a few small improvements in the TOTL, add a few new styles, rework a few older ones, put it in pretty much the same case and charge you for a new TOTL keyboard.
They will take quite of bit of the technology from the old TOTL and put it in the next MOTL keyboard, and charge you for a new keyboard.
I hope they change this, and come up with something new and great. They certainly have the resources to do that.
