Nothing really interesting in both aynth and Arranger cattegories. Not even a mention of the to be released KARMA software for the Motif series.

Yamaha, at least till this point, thinks that 2012 will be the year for non keyboardists !!! laugh

Need to wait some more for the mid range arrangers ....

looks like Yamaha is going the MINI route also...

with the economy the way it is I doubt you'll see any TOTL $4000.00 arrangers anymore from anyone.

I am expecting a new top of the line workstation later this year or early 2013. And not just an update of the current Motif line but a whole new system that outshines the options of the Kronos.

It's been 10+ years of Motif. Time for a rebranding!! They all live by the old saying... you don't give away the golden goose... you hand out gold eggs once and a while. I want more polyphony both in the tone generator and the sequencer... they layer these sounds so much to make them sound they way they do. When I use a piano, bass, drums and strings (especially the strings)... I start dropping notes. I want to be able to create what I hear in my head on the workstation. Don't get me wrong, I love the sounds on the Motif... I just need a little bit more power to do more things without a computer.

Happy NAMM everyone!!

Yamaha dissapointed alot of MOTL players for sure at NAMM this year...I'm glad there are some other nice offerings being released.

Well Donny, you can't expect manufacturers to always come out with new products every year...the S910 is still relatively new, and Korg has just released PA3X (which is not MOTL)...the microArranger is not MOTL either.

It is nice to see Roland finally come out with a mid/low range arranger with keys...I'm sure you are in the lineup to getting one...you will sound better than Fran. Hee Hee!

Perhaps, before you do, you should try John Smies excellent enhancements for the microArranger...it may make you want to keep it.
