External Digital Recorder - 11/07/11 07:30 AM
Does anyone record directly to an external digital recorder via line outs or digital outs?
Any issues or recommendations?

Joe, we do it every day on projects for our clients. The roughs are done in our warehouse. The finals are sometimes a combination of some pre-production work done at the warehouse and live recording of things like horns, voice, better drum tracks, etc.
Been doing it for years with no ill effects.
Haven't blown anything up yet.

Thanks Russ.
Is the Digital In noticeably better that the Line In?

Got a great deal ($100 less than closest competitor) on a Tascam SS-R05 2 track recorder (only needed 2 tracks as I record live in stereo) that supports Coax S/PDIF input. Records to Compact Flash card. Works great and is easy to use.
