Wow I didn't know it can be used for filters too. Now I'm
Even more impressed. I was gona buy the s910 replacement...
Now I'm slowly leaning towards tyros 4. I have owned a
Tyros 1 and recently a psr s900 so I'm sure it will be a big step up. My only concern is that I wanted the indian drum
kits that the psr s910 (and its successor) has but not the tyros 4

Most of the parameters that appear on the screen can at that instant be altered via the corresponding "drawbar" slider, instead of pushing the usual number buttons. This includes the Brightness and Harmonics that appear when that page of the Voice Editor is displayed - if that is what you mean by Filters. But once the screen refreshes to a different function - like mixing console for instance, or balances, the slider assignments immediately become associated with those screens. (If you call up a style or voices page, the sliders don't have any influence on those).

So you can't program a drawbar slider to remain associated with a particular parameter once the screen refreshes.

Those sliders should have editing/programming to allow for free assignment of function by registration or style/STS.
Yamaha is just stubborn...Korg has had that for years.

Lee, the sliders are user assignable, via the function switch, to one of nine different vol. controls. When the flute footage screen is up they are then auto-assigned to footage.

So, I can assign all 9 different sliders to any of many fuctions? Not just volume...And save that in a registration?
And is there a switch setting to have the sliders in assignable mode anytime I want?

Seven different things that are vol. controllable (like song vol., style vol., keyboard vol, pad vol,) plus mic. reverb. depth plus VH balance.

It's important to distinguish between the 8x small sliders which work as I described in my previous post and the single larger slider alongside of them. The latter "can" be manually assigned (and will stay assigned till you change it again) but only to a limited no. of functions. You're presented with various volume combinations to select from and can only select any one at a time from Mic, Keyboard, Harmony, Song, Style, Multipad, Audio Play, or Mic Reverb or VH balance. Other properties are not available.

Hi. The sliders on T3/T4 look a bit 'short throw' to me - i.e., it looks like they call for pretty precise adjustment, which isn't always possible in a gig situation where you're adjusting volumes, etc. on the fly, often singing at the same time, and have to be a bit quick about it sometimes. I haven't heard any complaints in this regard, but I'm just curious.

It may be that I'm just used to a Korg where you have a bit of leeway because of the longer throw on the Korg sliders. So, does anyone with a T3 or T4 wish their sliders had a longer throw to them?
