Casio PX-130 versus Casio PX-330 - 04/03/11 09:39 AM

Is there a difference in sound between the PX-130 and the PX-330. Is the PX-830 superior in sound? I'm only interested in the grand piano voice. What about the keybed?

Does anyone know?

I do know the PX330 has a reasonably good arranger on it. Almost bought one.

Scott - what would you think of a PX 330 paired with an arranger module, like maybe a BK7m?

the acoustic grand piano in both the 130 and 330 are exactly the same however there are more variations of the piano in the 330. None of the Casio pianos can come even close to the styles and acoustic instruments in the roland BK6m. I have both Casio pianos and the Roland module in my store and can assure you I have heard all these and the Roland styles and sounds are far better. The piano sounds are very good in all 3 but I'm talking about the styles, sounds and drums.

Hi Cass

Sounds like our friend George thinks the bk7m sounds would be better than the Casio, which doesn't surprize me. The Casio piano just doesn't quite make the grade to my ears. Not bad but no cigar.

I'm thinking a Yamaha P85 that does have a better sound or the NP30 might be a good idea. The PX330 might be useful if you want arranger features but you don't want to hook up the bkm7 sometimes.

I've considered something like what I've mentioned, but I know it will never come up to the Tyros 2 level and then I think, what's the point? IMHO juggle

I picked up a barely used PX-130 for $350. I just bought it for the grand piano sound and to have something to practice on when one of my PSR-S910's is in the shop and the other's in the trunk of my car.

I'll report how it sounds through my Logitech Z-2200.
