Mikey...
I was using a foldable tv table for awhile...but it wasn't very professional looking or stable...just convenient.

Since leaving it on a job, I got a conductor music stand which holds the mixer, and cordless mic when I need one. The face plate is solid, no holes, and I suppose you could put a glass or bottle of water on it...but I don't usually put liquids anywhere near my electronics.

Mine is similar to the one shown in the link below, except the feet fold up for transport.

I made one that fit on the keyboard stand where no one could see it, but it was very easy to access with your right hand. You can find details on how I made it on the PSR Tutorial dot com site.

I use a table made by Lifetime. One piece, easy to set up and light weight. can be set at multiple heights. Very well made.

I bought mine at Sam's club.

A sturdy music stand works well. I also have a folding plastic table that is actually for an RV and it's nice because it folds flat. This...

I bought one of these at Walmart:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Cosco-26-Personal-Folding-Table-Set-of-4/13269099
The web site shows only set of four, but my Walmart sells them one by one also.
It's sturdy enough for a mixer, folds flat and quite inexpensive.

It's not very tall -- 15.5".

This may be overkill for your needs, but I've been using the 'ultra' version of this tripod stand. I use it for my module, mixer, tip jar, bus cards and glass of wine. Probably the most stable side table I've encountered ... a little pricey too.

Thanks Donnie. I've looked at those while searching. That base is way to bulky and it seems a little lopsided if you ask me

Jerry this seems ideal for the price of the mini. But the classic jumps double and it seems like the only difference is a slightly bigger table top. But I like this one the best so far

Mikey,
The Mini extends to 28" tall and the Classic to 41" tall.

I use these stands for music, laptops, mixers or whatever. It is fully adjustable and stable as long as you remember to tighten the platform when you lay it flat.

That's the one I got...but I paid over $30 for it. I like it a lot and especially like being able to slant the stand toward me a little for access to my mixer. It looks professional on stage as well.
$14 bucks today...WOW! That is a deal.

Music stands are good for one item - module, mixer etc... If the bracket was centered-riveted to the desk, I would think it would work out better. You take a chance putting any moderate weight any distance from the bracket/stand connection.

WOW! You guys really missed out on The Most Stupid Deal Of The Day (MSDOTD)--mine. I gave two of those away last year cause no one wanted to pay 10 bucks plus shipping on Craig's List for them.
