What's your Fav Prefered Email Server? - 01/05/11 10:07 AM

I just switched to a new cell phone provider (from AT&T to Verizon) and purchased a new phone ( HTC Droid Incredible ). My new phone features Google G-mail so deciding whether to add that in addition to my current 'Yahoo' email client. That said, I'm interested in hearing which email client(s) synthzone members use, prefer and recommend most.

Hi Scott
Never rely on just one, as if it goes down or gets hacked your stuck. (I always recommend a minimum of three)
Hope this helps

Scott I use both Yahoo and Gmail. I do prefer yahoo to gmail, but that's because I started with Yahoo and have lots of e-mail stored there. I have an Apple Mobile Me e-mail account too, but use that to a much lesser degree.

Gmail became a big headache for me. My account was compromised and everyone in my address book was getting spam which looked like it came from me. Google apparantly could not fix or advise me what to do after many requests. So, I closed the account. Now I use my ISP webmail with Outlook Express and have Ymail as as a backup.

Hi Scott:

I also have the Samsung Epic 4G or Galaxy (Sprint, this cell uses also the Droid OS).

I have several email accounts with: Yahoo, Gmail, AOL and the mobilme (Apple service I have too)and all seem to work perfectly with this Phone.
I am sure you like yours too, just matter of getting use to the interface.

I use Gmail,

my advice is to have an additional 1 or 2 separate accounts to use when you need to sign up to something you suspect might be a spam generator. that way you keep your mail account clean

Thanks for all the informative replies. Eddie, sorry to hear that your G-mail acct became compromised. I'm wondering if that could have just as easily happened with Yahoo or another client though. That said, I've now got both Yahoo email & my new G-mail installed on my new phone.

Another Question: I've got my master contact list (address/phone/email) stored on my PC in MS Outlook. I previously was able to sync my online at&t Yahoo address book to Outlook using Yahoo Intellisync, but have recently learned that Yahoo Inc no longer supports Yahoo Intellisync , and when i try it, it no longer works. I've since directly imported my Outlook contacts and calendar to my new Droid phone using the the phone's HTC Sync Program, but unless someone here has got a better solution, will now need to go back and review my Yahoo contacts and manually update Outlook to reflect any newer updated changes made in my online Yahoo address book, and then perform another Outlook sync to the Droid Incredible phone again. I wish there was an easier way to keep all these contact lists in sync with each other.

LMAO Donny .... hey take a look at your posts on this forum ... I didn't see OT on them either but the subject title like this always made it obvious so didn't require it.
