If you reside in the Baltimore area DO NOT BUY
A BOSE L1 system. If you live in another state, then the Bose L1 would be MY FIRST CHOICE.
Good Luck,
Gary

I really like the QSC series. I have the K-8s and they are VERY powerful, enough to handle the size mentioned.
Things I like:
1.Great clarity (I run two in stereo, on the floor)
2. 6-year warranty
3. Very precise switches in the back for eq and volume.
4. Great power cables that 'lock' in.
5. Nice durable cabinets with a recessed back so my settings rarely change upon transport.
6. Place on the floor and I like the pads. I hadn't liked any other speakers on the floor, but this one is super with the 3-setting bass control.
7.Powered: More power than I'll ever need and I think they'd push 300 or so.
Cons: EXPENSIVE
Well, rambled enough. Just super happy with this system and had to share.
Good luck on your decision.

If price is a consideration, look at NADY speakers. Cheap as hell, and durable. I bought a bunch of them for outdoor DJ events and have been using them at high volume for several years.
Also, Google Carvin. They have speaker/amp combinations, and I have been using their stuff since the 60's. Frank Zappa used all things Carvin, including recording equipment.
They have a cool little combo with a 300 watt stereo head-8 channels-effects, plus two small 10" and horns, and some free stuff-mic and chords, for around $500.00. You can upgrade the speakers for a little extra money.
Works for me!
