NEW TYROS 4 .

Re: Tyros3 For sale - 06/24/10 08:56 AM

I realize that we all view things from our own perspective. If I were still playing out and having to reach an audience like a good part of the people on this forum, I would not be selling the Tyros3. But ---- Since I am now a home player who loves to play I just bought a Kn7000 Technics which does not have many of the Tyros3 goodies but the sound is far better for my needs.

Three active Pro-Musicians listened to the Tyros3 and the Kn7000 through my Bose compact in my home and felt that the Kn7000 sounded far better. This view, perspective does not come from a musician that favors contemporary music. Big Band, Latin, Show tunes, Classical and easy rock is where I am.

I will post a song as soon as I get comfortable.

Leezone,

You know Diki called me for High jacking every thread with Audya and now you are doing it and Diki doesn’t say a word, in fact he is inconspicuous by his absence. Doh! Perhaps I shouldn’t have said that! Sleeping dogs lie!

DNJ,

I swapped the T3 for the Audya and the plastic got to me being and engineer, I should have ignored that it was plastic, and thought a bit deeper!

The newly arriving Tyros4 will no doubt be made of plastic.

It's the ideal material for the job at hand...light, strong, non-conductive, inexpensive.

That's why they make laptops out of it.

He sure is Tony...good thing we are aware of his antics and never take him seriously anymore.

After all those weird posts about the Audya ("I'm buying one, I'm not", "I'm buying one, I'm not"...etc.) he's lost all credibility.

Re: Tyros3 For sale - 06/24/10 01:59 PM

ian,

when did i say i'm NOT buying an AUDYA?
i just complain about it,
and say it's too much $$$,
and say it's slow with USB1,
and say it should have 1gig RAM
and 500 gig HD
i just state the facts

and yes when the AUDYA 4 comes out,
i will test the crap out of it,
hopefully it will be bug-free
i mean with all this time Ketron is taking to release it,
it ought to be 100% rock solid

Of course not...Macbooks still use that archaic old metal...they are pretty good computers nonetheless.

I believe the CD/DVD drives are plastic.

Ha ha...you are very predictable, Lee...that's why you're such a great guy.

You're not the only one capable of being a (as Tony says) a "winder-upper" either.

On a more serious note, consider this...the Tyros4 is soon coming out...how long is the Audya still being finished?

Wasn't it introduced around when the T2 was launched?

They certainly aren't in any rush, and it's quite likely they may be left behind, technology-wise, not just by Yamaha, but by Korg and even Casio.

Ian and fellow members....

not sure if you were aware of this...

The Tyros was originally constructed in all metal...
But as soon as the drums sounded, it turned to plastic.

Imagine that!

As far as I knew, the Tyros was always made from plastic.

To each his own, I suppose...use whatever works for you, Lee.

Meanwhile, I'll thoroughly enjoy playing my Yamaha...as I said one time before, we all know what kind of sound we want coming out of our speakers.

I like a smooth, balanced sound, polished and sweet...that's what Yamaha provides, and that's why I play one.

It's like Bruno123 who likes the Technics sound...he's willing to give up a few things to have the sound he finds most appealing to him.

I can forgo the allegedly "live" sounding drums of the Audya and be perfectly happy with a much more cohesive, and balanced sound of the Yamaha any day.

Look guys there is only one reason the T range is made out of plastic, "BIG NUMBERS" we are talking 1000s not 100s, the T4 will be made in big numbers, people who make KBs from metal don't have their sights set too high, the cost of the tooling for a T3 case would be more than the Audya turnover in a year. Also if Yamaha do have a T4 coming on the market you can bet that Korg will have a new KB too.

Re: Tyros3 For sale - 06/25/10 04:50 AM

I post a subject dealing with my selling my Tyros3 and then DNJ ask a question - and then everything went to the same old, same old. Saying the same old, over and over. My question is why, something that keeps repeating and in almost the same manner is boring which equals chasing people new and old away.

Sorry, it’s just the way I feel. The only word/emotion I can think of is aaaaaaaaaah!

John this always happens when someone posts an item For sale in the General forum instead of the For Sale Forum.

John,

it is a never ending war between these guys. I just don't understand how they develop an emotional attachement to plastic, metal and marketing.

By the way, I just want to thank you for a pleasant conversation the other day. I hope that my situation takes a turn for the better so that I can buy your T-3.

Re: Tyros3 For sale - 06/25/10 01:08 PM

What's wrong with plastic?.......and how about using a good case for the instrument also. What the heck are you guys doing with these keyboards throwing them off a building sheeeeesh!

I've done about 500 shows with my plastic PSR-S910, and it doesn't have one scratch - and I use a gig bag, not a flight case. I do use a little extra foam, but still.
