I am planning to buy a controller keyboard and was thinking about the Behringer U-CONTROL UMX610. Is there anybody who has any experience with this keyboard?

Thanks

I believe George Kaye had a very low opinion of it. Maybe he'll see this and comment.

Thanks Don. I am looking for a decent not to expensive controller of 61 keys. Any suggestions are welcome.

Bottom line is, what do you want to control with it?

Find out what codes the sound sources need to see, whether they need sys-ex or just CC codes. See if they need specific controller numbers, make sure the controller can send them. See if they need setup controller strings, see if the controller can send them. See if buttons need to send PC# (some arrangers use these for variation changes, fills, etc.), see if the controller can send them...

We can't really make a recommendation until we know what you want to do WITH it...

Can't help you there, but several people here use that... maybe they can chime in on what controller works best with Live-Styler?

I currently use an Edirol Pcm 800 together with OMB for live gigs. I searched around a lot and I think it is the best lightweight controller keyboard for arranger playing. The key feel is very good. It has many buttons and they are in the right place, on the left side for easy access while playing. I also like the type of pitch bend and modulation joystick.

I would suggest Edirol PCR-800 for LiveStyler because of its capabilities, or you might look at the M-audio Axiom. Another alternative would be the a cheap controller couppled with a nice touchscreen display.

I am in the process of building a computer for livestyler as well, and I will be going with the PCR-800 along with a nice 8 or 10 inch touchscreen.

Thanks for the reply Jick Duck and Hitman. What kind of VST's you use with Live Styler. Is there something that is XG compatible? I am new to this
