Tony,

I like my steak well done, smothered with mushrooms, topped with provolone and shrimp.

Well, I'll buy it but if you are going to ruin a good steak by overcooking it and putting provolone and shrimp on it, you can do it yourself!!! ...

Instead of the broccoli I opted to try the garlic mashed potatoes topped with sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits and chives. Beats the hell out of broccoli, and you WILL NOT linger in a nursing home.

WOW! If you eat like that all the time, all your life, most likely you will never make it to a nursing home!

Eat healthy...live longer!

You guys don't eat broccoli?!?!?!?
I was at a gathering of guys (fathers and sons) in NY recently to watch the NY JETS/San Diego playoff game ... My wife made a wonderful sausage & broccoli bread for the occasion ... one of the kids (10 yrs old) took a piece and said "Hey that's really good - considering it has broccoli in it!" ... http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Sausage-Broccoli-Bread

And Mr. Diamond - you are really taking advantage of that heart surgery you had aren't you ?!?!? ...

I know why you guys eat like that.
You dont want to go to a nursing home and have to listen to one man band music all the time.

Re: Saints Win! - 02/08/10 10:42 AM

Actually, I do eat broccoli--especially when it's covered with cheese sauce. Same goes for asparagus, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. Been eating this stuff since I was born, and after 69 years I managed to plug two, tiny areas of my left, anterior, descending coronary artery. All the other areas were wide open with the exception of one tiny, distal section of the right coronary artery, which has a 50 percent blockage. So, now that those two areas have been re-expanded with stents, I figure it will take another 69 years to plug them off again if I keep eating this way.

Gotta' think positive!

Cheers,

Gary

Not only is the above my all-time list of most hated foods, they're even in the right order.

I am an unabashed member of BA (Broccoli Anonymous) and intend to stay broccoli free for the rest of my (probably shortened) life. One day at a time, baby, one day at a time. Uh, you can leave the cheese sauce, though. BTW, these nitro pills aren't that bad, really, they're not.

I remember when they were the Baltimore Colts, and yes, I vividly remember the 1958 game as if it were yesterday.
