Thought you had taken your Ketron back to the dealer..?

You've got to let it go, mate..! All this negativity is bad for your karma, man

Concentrate on bitching about the arranger you actually USE, eh? Let someone else pick up the torch. Make some music. Have a drink, put your feet up, watch the show with amusement, safe in the knowledge that it ain't YOU going through this any more

Irishacts,

Got it, that boat was nose heavy with faulty Audya's in transit back to Italy. lost at sea, what a shame, must be a song in there somewhere.

Isn't that the color scheme on the new Lionstracs keyboard..?

Is this a prediction? You remember those stories of people that have a premonition, and decide to NOT get on a plane that subsequently crashes?

You have been warned...

Time will tell, my friend... time will tell

I'm feeling fairly prescient after seeing how the MS is coming along...

That's a great word. I haven't heard anyone use it correctly in years. Congratulations!
DonM

PS BTW Almost everything I've found "wrong" with my Audya has turned out to be operator error or FTRM. (Failure to read manual).
It's far from perfect yet, but it has been entirely stable as far as operation.
I have been using Roland E80 at work for the past couple of weeks, but I'm taking the Audya back tonight now that I've had more time to figure it out.

DonM
I will do the switch from Korg to Audya on my gig this weekend, I'm sure it will work out,(I hope) the styles are really amazing. I have been going back and forth between those two KB's every day for almost two months, in my test setup. There are very few styles I like better on the Korg. This weekend will be final test. I'm sure the few problems I'm having will be fixed. I can tell you that this is nothing compared to what I went true when my Korg was new. Updates from OS 1.6 and newer made all my Korg problems go away. I will never let my korg go, I like it very much, but that does not stop me from using something else, and I will still use it my band. How do you like the E80?

I love the E80, but I also have an E50 and an Audya. Something has to go! I can't see ever getting rid of the E50. It's great for small jobs and backup.

Don,

What’s going on, I smell blood , maybe a chink in the amour, a shaft of light at the end of the tunnel Don, is the Audya going back. In a previous above Don you said you have read the manual cover to cover and then you said you needed to figure it out, that’s what I found, the manual is TOSH I didn’t find it helpful at all, I wonder what others think of it, I know two people in the UK who think the same as me. All the problems I had where nothing to do with the manual they where bugs in OS2.0 and there are still bugs in OS3.0 that were in OS2.0, but the mob are calm for a while. I told you I still have both and like Skude for some perverse reason I do the same , change KB about every week and can see and hear both in close proximity, I can tell you I am really tired of the Audya it will get sold on shortly, what I do notice are big gaps in the Audya compared to the PA2x. I don’t see a doubling of performance or quality of sounds in the Audya only a doubling of price. I think I can answer this finally, If you all had the choice of having a PA2X and a Audya to trial for 6 months , at home, I think you would send the Audya to the deep, one way ticket on Irishacts boat.

Regards All Tony

Tony, I'm not having any trouble with the Audya. The fact is that I like a lot of features from both keyboards. Either will work fine for what I do.
The manual could be better, but I've found that if you dig hard enough, most everything is in there. I've found the same is true for most owners manuals. Roland's is pretty good, but still leaves some things out.
Yes, I've read it several times, but it is really big and I don't remember some of the things until I'm specifically trying to use them.

Don,

I might just hang on the the Audya a bit longer heard above OS4 WOOOOOW what ever next from Ketters, at this rate 6 upgrads per year I might see OS10 before I pass over, it would be a big coffin to get me and the Audya in.

Most other keyboard manufacturers make OS bugfixes and additions to basic spec a mere increase in decimal point... in other words, OS 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc..

You generally don't get increases in basic OS number until something brand new is introduced. I don't see upgrades to add in basic functionality that should have been in since OS 1.0 as deserving of a whole new OS number, personally...

Ketron is about to release OS 1.4 CALLING it OS 4.0 don't mean squat...!

There you go Don I knew Diki would pour cold water on it, never mind lets wait and see it's almost like Christmas day every day with a Ketron, or is it just bollock fixing that should have ben done a year ago!

Well, if you read it another way, OS 4.0 would tell me that this is an much older keyboard
than we would think if we look at the date it was shipped from the factory.

Look at the date the Audya was announced...

Makes my G70 seem not quite so antique

Diki,

I didn't know you had a G70, my G70 went down with the Mary Rose, in fact I think my G70 was the reason the Mary Rose went down, it made the ship top heavy.

Who cares what number they give to the upgrade?
I don't care if they call it OS 147.99 as long as it gives me more "stuff", and continues to address things that users are needing.

Probably what the Audya will be worth on eBay in a few months after all these problems and bad publicity in it's hastened release.

147.99? That's how many yards Don's last tee shot went. Pretty good for a pitching wedge.

Tony I admire you taking a chance on Audya amongst all the hoopla & misfortunes so far. I almost got caught up in it after hearing & seeing it early on at the Shreveport jam last year in LA. But I'm thankful for its very delayed release which gave me time to think and come to my senses sticking with yamaha and I'm very glad I did.

Good luck to you.
