OT Stupid weather man - 10/09/09 09:35 AM

Can you believe this was posted on the TV station site here?

"The heavy rains are expected to bring a cold front later today. The current temperature is 80 degrees and is expected to drop to the mid 70s by 6 p.m."

BRR, I'd better get a warm coat out.

Stop your whining . It snowed 2 inches here yesterday (that's early even for this far North). Stupid winter...

Take care,

I got my heavy coat out last night to go out and walk the dog. Even the Bananas are shivering in San Jose, where it was 43 to 69
instead of 70 to 100. BRRRRRRRRRR
If it gets any colder here I will have to put antifreeze in the keyboards.

You can all take a break this winter and head South for the annual Shreveport Arranger Keyboard Jam, the fourth weekend in January.
I'll put up the details later.

Re: OT Stupid weather man - 10/09/09 03:01 PM

At this point in my life, when the daytime temperature is lower than my age I consider it the dead of winter. And, yes, I'll be heading for Shreveport in January--right after the NYE jobs end. And, I'm not coming home till February, just in time to get to work on the boat so it will be ready to go in the water at the end of March or early April.

Today, NOAA Weather called for winds of 10 to 15 knots from the northwest. HA! As usual, they were dead wrong. The wind was howling from the south at 27 to 30 knots, with some higher gusts. The only part they got right was the sun--it was shining. I have the weekend off and I'll be out on Chesapeake Bay's upper reaches again tomorrow, despite NOAA's dire predictions of rain.

Cheers,

Gary

Um, isn't, "stupid" and "weather man" a good example of the mutually exclusive term?

George Carlin would be proud...

Don't you think it's 'mutually inclusive..?

I think it's more a redundancy... Like the Department of Redundancy Dept.

Military Intelligence would be the mutually exclusive example..!

...or 'Arranger Chart Hit'!

Come to think on it, I think you are right, Diki.

And I stand corrected.

Maybe I should apply for a weather reporting job...

Never take a job a rock could do just as well as you!

* If rock is wet, it is raining.
* If rock is green, it rained a while ago.
* If rock is white, it is snowing.
* If rock is shaking, there is an earthquake.
* If rock is dry, the weather is fair.
* If rock is swinging, it's windy.
* If rock is warm, the sun is out.
* If rock is not visible, it's dark outside.
* If rock is under water, there is a flood.
* If rock is gone, there is a tornado (Run!!)
