Ray,
Would you be interested in a Technics KN5000 for under $600? It is a great keyboard sold for #3600 in it's day.

I know you quite possibly ARE a legitimate poster, Ray, but I am starting to have doubts...

Didn't you just ask this exact question on another post? And have so far not come up with anything in the way of important information for us to help you...

The only speakered 61 about $3000 is the Korg PA800 (a hair less, actually) and the Ketron SD-5. Most speakered 61's are more in the $1-2000 range.

In these price ranges, the Yamaha S910 is very popular (or at least, it's predecessor the S900), the Korg PA500 has fans too. You can find some used Roland E80's at well under $3000 (pretty heavy, though), too.

But we really need better info from you to make a recommendation WHICH.

Anybody can type 'Arranger keyboard' into Google and get all this pricing information instantly, but giving a recommendation WHICH is going to need more than '61 keys and speakers'

Yep...and it's called a Nigelectomy.

Usually performed without anesthetic.

Well, that post certainly gives the impression that you think that episode is a minor thing. That's unfortunate, because a lot of people felt very deceived (disgusted, actually), even more so because of your cavalier attitude about it. Perhaps you think it's a big joke. Most folks here, don't. I wasn't going to bring it up again but since YOU did, I think it has done more to undermine the integrity of this board than any other single act. Not perpetrated by a troll or passing troublemaker, but by a 'member of the family'. I'm not saying that you need to apologize, that's for you to decide. But I do think it is in your best interest to let it die a natural death.

Well judging by all the private emails after the JD saga of which many thought it wasn't so much of a crime as you describe....and I found out who my REAL SZ friends were around the world.I never thought you or a few others fell into that catagory which is no surprise. Thanx for bringing it up again makes me remember all the more. Family? give me a break.

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 09/30/09 03:33 PM

If you think the people that condone your deception are your 'REAL' friends, then you need to upgrade your friends. Trust me, they're just feeding your fantasy of what constitutes acceptable behavior. How I feel about you personally is immaterial. It's called 'screwing up' and refusing to accept responsibility for it. If that quality makes you admired by some members here, then what can I say; I guess your 'charm' and (self-proclaimed) talent trumps honesty and integrity. Oh, and when I used the term "family", I was referring to a group of people that basically trust each other. So you're right, I guess we DO have to scrap that term now.

BTW, YOU brorght up JD, not me.

JD has been brought up many times after the fact if you do a search..forget that?....as for you telling me what friends to choose? That ain't gonna happen flat out...let's just say chas this is the last time WE converse on the SZ.

Normally I'd be concerned about that but then I remembered your post after Fran 'resigned' from SZ. I took the time to look it up for you in case you didn't remember.

"I respect your decision and will also follow suit and stand down from SZ like the many others in the past due to the same reasons email me also if you want to discuss music or anything else my real friends.Enough is enough....."

Ummm, nothing like 'LOYALTY' to prove that you ARE the 'REAL DEAL'. I guess 'enough' is really NOT enough. If this latest declaration lasts as long as the last one, we should be conversing again by, oh, tomorrow (sooner, if you respond to this post ).

Yes, but Ray's being entertained while waiting for his keyboard

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 09/30/09 10:53 PM

I don't think Ray really cares... he'd have certainly tried to help us help him by now if he really cared.

I've got a theory... Maybe Donny is the 'made up' personality, and John DiLeo actually is the REAL person.

I mean, after he posted that he (John DiLeo) was a beginner arranger user that sure explained a lot of Donny's demo postings! (great singer, but please! that playing )

Maybe Fran really was Scottyee having some 'fun' with us...? It's already well known that Ian and I are the same poster. I still have my doubts about Russ and chas, too. WAY too friendly for this forum! Aren't Nigel AND Dennis both from Australia? Sounds fishy to me... only thought Oz had the one arranger player!

Well, I DID see Priscilla Queen of the Desert, but hesitated to suggest that possibility...

How much ABBA do you perform, anyway?

$6000, Tony? I already told you you only have to give me $1000 to take it! Why you want to waste another $5000?

Hey Diki,
after all the nearly nice things I've said, and you tell me there is another player down here.
Elvis migrated to Oz, I'm playing backing for his Club Tour.

Ray, you aren't getting any substantive responses because you have not provided the requested additional information. When that happens, the post tends to 'drift' a little. Why not just supply the additional information and then just watch the responses come pouring in.

First off your cap lock is still on?....Although the Audya is a choice.....
I personally don't know if it's really ready yet for primetime use at this time....secondly have you read all the problems associated with the Audya up to this point? It has 76 keys. Are you willing to learn another OS at this time coming from a Korg they are night and day. And lastly NO Speakers...wasn't this a concern for you?

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 10/02/09 10:28 AM

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT THE SPEAKERS,BUT SINCE I WAS GOING TO LAY THIS NEW KEYBOARD IN THE CHURCH ,I WAS WONDERING EVEN IF THERE NO SPEAKERS IT WILL BE FINE ,BUT ANOTHER THING I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEMS KETRON IS HAVING ,AND I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT DID U SAY ABOUT KORG [NIGHT AND DAY ]
AND I REALLY APPRECIATE UR HELP

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 10/02/09 12:53 PM

Ray what I meant was the PA800 is a much better arranger then the older PA80 series...sound, feature wise and navigationaly. You should go play one somewhere and get a good idea of what I'm talking about. As for Ketron problems just do search on the Audya on SZ and read what the latest pro/con news is all about regarding the Audya. Good Luck.

SO YOU ARE SAYING GO AHEAD AND BUY THE PA800
AND DO NOT GO FOR THE AUDYA.IS THAT RIGHT DNJ

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 10/02/09 03:38 PM

If you are familiar with Korg already, I'd stick with them, unless you hear something that really blows your door off somewhere else (but be prepared for a whaile struggling with different ways of doing what you are familiar with on the Korg).

PA800, or PA2Xpro (if you want to play full piano parts) would seem a great suggestion.

Yes, the Audya has definite stability OS issues at the moment, and is, unfortunately, just a bit too 'bleeding edge' to recommend right now. Wait a few weeks while OS3's troubles are documented, and you'll have a better idea of where that one is (and it's way outside your price point, anyway).

Alternatives to look at might be a used T2 (T3 is a bit more than your limit). Yamaha do have a fairly large selection of praise and worship styles, if that's what you are looking for. But you'll need a speaker system for it.

An S910 will save the church at least a grand, and still do the job nicely.

Not sure, for a big church gig why speakers are a big deal..? They aren't going to be loud enough for the church anyway, in all likelihood. Having to have them severely restricts your choices (Audya, T2/3, PA2X, for instance).

At this point, if 61, and speakers are mandatory, PA800 then PSR S910 seem your best options... in that $2000-3000 range, anyway. Me, I'd go with what you are familiar with, and get a PA800...

Re: PLEASE HELP FIND A GOOD ARRANGER KEYBOARD - 10/02/09 04:00 PM

I keep forgetting the Roland E80, though! If it is at a church, you won't be moving it much, will you?

Great arranger, but kind of hard to find...

....hmmm I know of one E80 available in the FOR SALE section.

No I said shut off your cap lock, go play each one first then make a educated choice.
But judging by your posts the Pa800 should fill your needs. Good Luck.
