EMC XT Ver 3.51 now out. Supports PA2X foramts. - 08/28/09 07:24 PM

Hi all.

I've just been checking out the new version of EMC that supports the new KORG formats, and I thought I would record a video on it and share my thoughts with you.

hi James,

thank you for the info.
where did you manage to download the update from? or did klaus send it to you.

The old site for the updates, the last time I checked, only had the Styleworks 2000 updates not XT.

At long last I may be able to get my phrase database set up.

best wishes
Rikki

Does it support the new T3 format yet? I mean, it's great when the destination software gets updated, but the SOURCE is also pretty important.

Have EMC got any handle yet on converting Mega voice triggers into either DNC or Guitar Mode setups? I think the Korg has enough control options in Guitar Mode that you ought to be able to do something that might get some of that Mega Voice voodoo over to the Korg's...

If you use the very same downloadlink as Klaus sent you when
bought the XT, you'll always get the latest version.
Hopefully Klaus will add a note on the website when changes
or updates done in software as well.

Cheers

It's not listed as a source format, it just says Tyros and *.sty; *.sst; *.bcs; *.prs.

That said, I have just tried to convert what I believe are true Tyros 3 format files to KORG Pa2X format and it worked just fine.

Some other news, I found a few bugs in the software that relate to adding more than 1 Style into a KORG SET. Basically it doesn't work, but I have sent off a bug report so for the moment it's only good for converting one style at a time to each KORG SET file.

All in all it's looking pretty good so far. They just need to iron out the kinks with having more than 1 style in a SET.

Hi Diki,
I just tried a guitar rhumba T3 style, which I knew would probably contain megavoices. Mines got problems.
One of the guitar voices came up as a piano. It contained the effects like plucks or frets, which I I beleive normally get put into a seperate track for a T series conversion.

Maybe EMC couldn't work out what sound should have been used, so it defaulted to piano & left the fx sounds in?? Only a guess. I used to have this happen with some of my old Technics styles that used USER sounds. EMC didn't know what to assign, so it put in piano as default.

Either way,I'm wrapped. The import/export of individual style tracks function appears to be working, I may end up with my phrase library yet. haahaa
