One of the best July 4th's ever

One of the best July 4th's ever - 07/05/09 03:19 PM

Yes it was. I took the weekend off and had the time of my life. Friday my wife and I biked around Baltimore's Inner Harbor and surrounding areas. Saturday, we went down to our townhouse in the Harborview development and had a party and watched an amazing fireworks display from our 5th floor rooftop. On Sunday, after a wonderful performance of my arrangement of "America the Beautiful," in church we headed up to Havre De Grace for an incredible parade and we watched our son as only parents can. Some of you may remember he plays tenor sax with Baltimore's Marching Ravens. Then, I rode the bike for a couple of hours. As far as I am concerned, it can't get any better than that.

Still alive and having a wonderful time,

Joe

Joe, glad you smelled the roses and congrats on your son. I too took off for a family reunion, but too many beers and a jump in the lake (off the boat) led to a loss of my expensive sunglasses

Jumping off boats, Jim? I guess your back is doing well these days, eh?

Joe, you've identified what's important. that's a really good thing. You can never reverse time, so the time to enjoy life is NOW.

Looks like you're doing that.

Glad you're better, Jim. Let's get together, soon. I just had surgery on my left sholder(to correct nerve damage from a recent altercation with a troubled kid who tried to rob me) and am out of commission for a while.

Be good to swap tales with "the hardest working man in show business).

Be well,

Russ
