Byrd's Mr. Tambourine Man with Dylan - 05/10/09 05:48 PM

I actually don't think this song is a very well-written lyric but man, what a song!

Goes to show you what timing and presence and charisma can do.

Wasn't that David Crosby on the Strat next to Bob? Man, I hate that Rick 12 string sound.

You're right-good historic sound!

You hate the Ric 12-string? Haha, you are the first person I have ever heard say that. Why? Do you hate the Ric or hate the 12-string?

Yes, that is Crosby. I note how well Roger McGuin has held up compared to the rest.

Bill, I just never liked anytthing Ric made. I like the Ric 12 string least of all. I had one briefly in the 70's and never could get the tinny sound to my liking. The neck was awful. Ric is one brand I don't currently have, and I have over 300 pieces now.

I think the trick with Rick's is, you don't TRY to get it the way you like it... you like it for the way it is!

Hard to argue with the Beatles and the Byrds. It's basically impossible to get that sound any other way. Not to mention that great bass, too...

Totally unique sounding guitars. In a sea of 'me too' guitars, personally, I LOVE a guitar that you can recognize from one or two notes

They're unique, and have been used to make some unforgettable music.

That sound is just not one I like for me. Don't particularly like the Getty Lee bass sound either.

Different strokes, I guess. Everybody should play what they enjoy....music as well as instruments.
