Take a look at JazzKat Amplifiers... - 04/16/09 11:35 AM

I first saw these little guys at Summer NAMM three years ago. The little JazzKat has over 100 watts, an 8" speaker and weighs less than 20 lbs. It lists for $799.00, I think, and is hand-wired in the US.

They have other models, and I got the PhatKat, which has a 300 watt rated 12", two channels, a tube option which can be turned on and off, puts out about 150 watts, has on-board effects; even an XLR input on one channel. It is $1099 list.

These litte things (The PhatKat) are great for bass, keyboards and guitar. They weigh under 30 lbs and are a little over 12" tall and a little under 12" wide and deep.

Ideal for 1 keyboard and a vocal mike, a guitar and mike, two guitars, bass....you get the idea. They're powerful, small and top quality... ideal for OMB use.

Check them out. They're GREAT!

These amps look very interesting. Have you seen or ever compared them to the CORUS amplifiers, which seem similar to me. http://www.jhalemusic.com/pages/aiCorus.html

Haven't had any experience with the other amp, but Acoustic Image is a good outfit. Saw and played the JazzKat at NAMM. Thing is, the addition of the tube, which can be turned on and off, is GREAT.
