Ketron @ Musikmesse Showing off Speakers / P.A. NO JOKE !!!

Ketron @ Musikmesse Showing off Speakers / P.A. NO JOKE !!! - 04/01/09 05:19 PM

from Ketron.it:

"Ketron presents of the Musikmesse a Professional P.A. System which is the result of extensive research and development utilizing Ketron's experience and expertize in the design of electronic musical instruments. "

This has me VERY worried.
They should be spending time, putting their efforts into finishing and getting their keyboards done, getting their style software done, getting out a complete AUDYA manual

Seems like they don't sell enough keyboards/modules, so now they get into selling P.A.'s??

How about making their gear competitively priced with all other brands, then maybe they would sell more and would not need to sell speakers, or whatever they are gonna sell.

There are too many speakers to choose from already and not enough TOP arrangers,

Besides we already have the option of buying those kick @ss 8" Podiums, :-)
What more do we need?

Any pictures of this new Ketron PA system?

The more I think about this the more I think Ketron might have something here.

Ketron users are a loyal bunch, so offering a Ketron PA to go with your Ketron keyboard might be a good way of generating new business in these bad times.

Just thinking out loud here.

After all, if you are prepared to pay at least a grand more than a T3 for an arranger with, OK, let's be generous and just say some 'unfinished' features, well, a PA from a company with no experience in making PA's probably makes great sense, too

Can't WAIT to try out that new JBL arranger... I mean, it's GOT to be as good as their speakers, doesn't it?

Diki,

the QSC arranger will give yours a run for the money...

maybe this new PA has an intelligent processor that automatically fills in those "missing" complex audio guitar chords...

Maybe it will look like another Bose PAS knockoff?

If you ever heard the speakers on a MS60 or X1 keyboard, you may have more confidence.

I am certain that any product that Ketron puts out will not be junk.

Good thing this was not annouced April 1st

Remember Solton?
Solton PA/Speakers is not a new thing, and as we know, Solton by Ketron was the
brand-name before it was only Ketron left to read.

I remember I had a keyboard speaker with built in amp/mixer made by solton, which was ketron and it sounded good. I have total faith in whatever ketron puts out. I never had any major problem with their products and I've been using them for over 15 years.

I never heard a built-in speaker in an arranger that was anything more than rubbish. Compared to even those Podium's, they are all boxy, nasty gutless wonders as far from flat as is possible to get...

I was refering to those keyboard amps like the one roland makes. Solton/Ketron made speakers like that along with other typs of speakers and they had a great sound to them.

Sorry, but likewise for the keyboard amps... (OK, not gutless, but still anything but flat).

About the only way to hear your arranger without coloring the sound unacceptably are either studio monitors or a GOOD home hi-fi system for home use, and good quality (which doesn't NECESSARILY mean expensive!) PA speakers - powered or unpowered is fine.

Basically, if you hear a noticeable difference in response between a good stereo system or studio monitors, and whatever you are currently playing through, you aren't hearing your arranger in all it's glory... and neither is your audience.

They have a nice looking set of speakers, clean lines, looks very professional. I wonder what the specs are. Hopefully they will also hit the states so I can give them a whirl.

Re: Ketron @ Musikmesse Showing off Speakers / P.A. NO JOKE !!! - 04/03/09 05:31 PM

Given Ketron's price premium when it comes to arrangers, I wouldn't expect them to be very competitive price-wise here in the US... not to mention an almost non-existent dealership network.

But if the thought of matching PA and keyboard logos gets your aesthetic juices flowing, and price is unimportant, I can see them being just the ticket...

I just wonder who Ketron contracted to make the speakers! RCF, or even better, PODIUM?

Its not the thought of matching logo's. As you may not be aware ketron has had speakers long before when they used the name Solton. They had a very good product, quality was very good and they sounded great. For what ever reason they I think when they stopped using the name Solton, Solton took over or must bought out thier line of speakers.

If a product is good, and at the right price, and reliable, it doesn't matter what the logo is...

And conversely, if it is too expensive, too hard to find and service, and no better than the widely available competition, it ALSO doesn't matter what the logo says...

Let's wait and see what kind of price these things come out at... If they are a companion price to Ketron's arrangers, here in the US at least, they are up against some VERY stiff competition.
