All you Pro's...Who's GIGGIN' CHRISTMAS Eve & NYE ?......

Would be interesting to hear what this week & into next week to NYE brings in way of Gigs.....?

Donny, First things first I'm gigging Christmas Eve at an Italian restaurant in Providence's Italian section called "Federal Hill." But the gigging I'm doing is sitting at a dinner table to partake in "La Vigilia" aka Feast of the 7 Fishes.

New Years Eve, I'm playing at a country club in Massahusetts for their members dinner from 6:30 to 8:30. Then maybe I'll get to catch Mikey Maestro in Newport, Rhode Island for his first night show.

On Christmas Eve, I always play at one of the older hotels in town. It's the gathering place for lots of the service people from area clubs, restaurants, etc. I played this hotel 6 nights a week for about 10 years. As service people get off work, they stop by for a minute.

New Years will be at the restaurant I play week-ends from 6-8-then, on to the country club I've played for 20 years. I'll be joined by a respected area educator on sax, which is something I've been looking forward to most of this year. Finally, we'll show up for an impromptu jam at another private club for breakfast.

Two hours background at a RC on Christmas day...home by 3:00pm, just as the turkey is in the home stretch...

Two shows on NYE...Solo at a RC in the afternoon, then a dinner/dance with my quartet to ring in the new year...

Then a double on New Year's Day...

I'm loaded for bear myself this week & next,

doubles the next 4 days which includes Xmas eve & day also but will be home late afternoon both days for dinner with the family, next day a Big Wedding, another Holiday Party, then a Triple New Years Eve, early double New Years Day, then on the 2nd a I'm performing at a latin Club Dia de los Reyes/Three Kings Day Dinner dance.

With the exception of December 29 I'm working every day between now and mid January. Double NYE 2 till 4 and 9 till 1a.m.. Then I have a couple days off and I'm headed to Easton, Maryland to look at a new boat. Gotta' plan ahead!

About 14 jobs to 12/31 (including 4 on New Years).

Only off on Christmas day.

I have one today and 3 church services on Christmas Eve. Then I'n clear till Monday and the first New Years Eve Party. I have another on Tuesday, and a double on NYE. Then another NY party on the 1st. I try and keep the week between Christmas and New Years clear for time with the family.

Christmas eve: dinner at our house: baked stuffed lobster, shrimp, calamari, smelts, etc., etc., etc. ... 24 family members including 10 kids ages 13 to 2 1/2 ... after dinner I will be 'gigging' in the family room with all the kids singing Christmas carols and songs ...

NYE we are going out to party with 4 other couples ...

Neat photos of one of my favorite places to be this time of year. I had the opportunity to stay at Useppa Island several years ago and fish Boca Grande for tarpon during their annual Tarpon Tournament. Great fishing this time of year, incredible place to stay and someday I may get the opportunity to get back there and enjoy the sunshine state.
