Freeform type styles without drums or percussion

Freeform type styles without drums or percussion - 10/30/08 02:58 PM

Does anyone know of a collection of styles that have been designed WITHOUT a steady beat drum or percussion track? I've been wanting to play some slower more romantic music with the benefit of background instrumentation but without the hard and steady beat. If you know of any styles like this can you point me in their direction?
Thank you!!!!! Russ

Check your e-mail...I've sent you one I created/assembled on my S900...should work fine.

It is quite different than the "sustained" styles that are available on some of the forums.

It is in 4/4 time, but if you start your song without intros you can play in any time signature.

You can change my OTS to whatever you prefer.

Take a style that you like and shut the drum track. Then replace the instrument or shut it off for some of the other tracks. Be sure to change the brass and other percussion instruments to something more pleasing.

Bass with a strumming guitar or piano fills – whatever Now that’s romantic.

I created pads, four of them, with a guitar strum on all four beats, a light bass drum on four, a soft cymbal and a snare drum. Take most of the tracks off and add the pads at a low volume. Romantic again. They are also great for strong Big Band.

I am looking for the same thing for PA series.

Fran,

Every manufacturer has tons of piano-only styles.

There are plenty of piano only styles on the Yamaha CVP-409...you can download them here: http://psrtutorial.com/Files/PSR/PSRS900/Styles.html

They are at the bottom of the page.

They work perfectly on the S900.

Ian,
Do you think those piano styles will work OK on the T3 after going trough the converter software?
