Gw8 Style LIST !!! is missing in owner's manual - 10/20/08 12:56 AM

If someone is going to be interested in an arranger with "latin" styles, the prospects that could have, as many of the members here, we download the manual and check the specks and so on..
One of the most important ingredients in the Arranger keyboards are the STYLES.....no such list in the manual, I guess Roland forgot to include it.
If anyone has the style list, please email me, I appreciate it very much.

If this is the style list for the latin version, there really not that much for a keyboard that is strictly for latin. There just as much of latin styles on any other arranger than the GW8.

That's the list for the GW-8A (as in Asian) in the wrong place!

The GW-8L has 100 styles that are JUST Latin. Any other arranger got this many? Didn't think so...

Here's the list for the Latin version..

Thank you, from the other list it was not clear that it was the latin version. Now the question is are any of the 100 latin styles any good.

Can someone copare them to the ketron sd5 styles?

How many latin styles came with that?

And how much does it cost?

Try to remember, this is an $850 product.

So what if it costs $850, If the latin styles aren't of any quality. It doesn't matter of it cost $800 or $5000.

It does if all you can afford is $850!

Don't forget, after the 100 styles in ROM, there is software to convert SMF's into styles. If you have good latin SMF's, you can have good styles...

I don't listen to enough contemporary latin music to know if they are good or bad (other than the Ska was terrible!), but they are getting pretty wide distribution, so you ought to be able to find one to audition, soon.

Personally, I think a sub-$1000 arranger is PERFECT for much of Latin America, where the penny gets pinched a little tighter than the wealthy retirees who post here!

Well said Diki! No disrespect to them, but I often at times can't help but think (considering how fast keyboards fly in and out of hands on this forum) that some members here are a bit out of touch and have forgotten what it was like when a $850 keyboard (although considered a deal today), would still be a huge purchase for some people on this forum.

I feel bad for some members looking for good insight from users regarding a particular keyboard.., yet we find that some of those who reply had the keyboard for less than 30 days!

If sounds good enough where I can take it to a gig and if its $850, then great. For me, I won't buy something just because it's $850 if it's not going to do the job for me.

I'm just looking for someone who has Ketron Sd5 and can a/b between the two. I'm not looking for the Roland @ $850 to blow away the SD5. The sd5 is a starting comparison on what latin styles out of arranger should sound like. If people come back a say, hey you know what, the R gw8 is pretty good, not to bad compared to SD5.
