T2 - T3 conversion software? - 10/16/08 07:26 AM

I read somewhere that Yamaha put out software to automatically optimize styles from T2 to T3. Can someone post a link?

The file conversion software can be downloaded from the Yamaha site at: http://music.yamaha.com/products/downloads.html?productId=1007003

Jay,

I used the conversion software to convert tons of styles while waiting for my T3. I have played several of the conversions and frankly, I was disappointed in the results. Perhaps I used the wrong version of the conversion program as there are two versions so I am going to experiment some today. I'll let you know how it turns out.

It tried to identify those voices in a MIDI file that the T3 can assign new Mega voices to.

I tried it.But I have found for me the best way to although a bit tedious is to reassign them your self and resaving the MIDI file or style.

It woked wonders with a James Taylor MIDI file witch apparently uses the GM files rather than the SA or even SWEET and COOL voices. I was amazed at the different. These are Yamaha Toon files I was messing with as well. Most of them I'm sure were made to work on any GM player thus GM program assignments., Styles are different as they are constructed for the Arrangers.

I only found MEga Enhancer and convert folders of MIDI files. I did not find a Atyle Enhancer Program

Hey Jay,
What do you think so far?

I am now playing through all the music finder files. Might be all I get done today - there are over 1800 of them! I have found very few so far that are not pretty darn good. What fun!

Jay,
What EQ settings are you using? I am playing everything just like it came out of the box so far.
