Tyros3 Youtube video...

I thought this was a good demonstration of the T3 in conjunction with a Big Band Style. Pardon me if someone has posted this video before already.

PS: The guy playing the T3 looks very similar to the guy that demoed the Audya at this year's Musikmesse. Or was it last year's Musikmesse. Anyway, enjoy the show... >> Notice also that the demonstrator is hitting the "lowest" note on the keyboard fairly regularly. Sorry... I had to mention it. You know what they say don't you? That, "open rebuke is better than secret love". I'm not one to placate Yamaha when 50 percent of arranger players are suffering from their lack of foresight and constrained business decisions and obviously aren't willing to placate us . At least thus far anyway. Tyros4 may be a different outcome and a welcomed one if Yamaha agrees to produce a 76 key version. A welcomed one by 50 percent of us anyway.

Great Video.....I thought this guy looked like BEAKYBIRD aka Larry Levine

Although a great player the whole thing sounded a bit canned to me with no character or improv at all it was if I was listening to a polished CD. Nothing wrong with that if you want that kind of sound.
I noticed no one even applauded or knew he was there, that stinks this guy has Chops!!....all in all good stuff for sure.

The SA2 Clarinet is really nice, but I really love playing the SA2 Breathy Sax...I love the way it responds to the Art1 and Art2 buttons.

Definitely the most advanced and best sounding arranger available.

The player in the Youtube Video is ROD POOLEY who lives on the South Coast UK and does a lot of demonstrations for KORG.
Nice to speak to and he's an excellent player with a eye sight defect from birth, his states he's waiting for keyboard manufacturers to fit 32 " screens...

He was secretly paid by Korg to look lifeless.

Now you've done it, Jerry...Burkels will want one for sure.

The one thing this all points out, IMO, is that, in the hands of a competent player,
ANY of these TOTL arrangers are capable of sounding amazing...

We spend all our time kvetching about each other's arranger, the sounds, the OS, the weight,
whatever, but when push comes to shove, the OS and sounds is about 10% of the equation,
and the guy behind the keyboard is still 90% of the wow! factor...

Put it this way... I'd rather listen to a great musician on an average arranger
than the other way around!

For most of us here, to be honest, a solid practice regimen will do more for your playing
than a new T3 EVER will... It's a LOT less expensive, too

Not often we agree, my friend, but you make perfect sense here.

Time spent learning new chords and arrangements, and digging into your instrument's style creator and voice editing features can always bring new life to one's present arranger...and will save a lot of money for us working musicians, as well as the home player.

And, another thing is happening as well...it's getting harder to promote TOTL arrangers when the mid-range have come so far.

Now, most of the differences would be hardware and keybeds.

that says it all & silences all BS every time...

to many think the latest & greatest changes your playing ability....but we all know,
"Lets HEAR what ya got" will answer 99.9% of the questions.

Burkels ... regarding "Hideous"? have some class I'm sure you could express yourself a bit better btw.... where are your pictures for a comparison?

Actually, from most of the user demos I've heard here (not the top pros, but most others)
the TIMING, the ability to sit in the pocket and groove
is the thing I wish most would work on.

I can't tell you how many (most, in fact) cannot actually play along with the drums... they
rush, they drag, they often don't even sound as if they are even LISTENING
to the poor drummer!

Just one more reason a good punchy drum sound
is so important

Diki good post ....BUT Timing & keeping rhythm is more then just practice. I see people on the Dance floor every night just moving around with NO IDEA or conception of the tempo & their timing to dance to the music....its as if I blindfolded you & spun you around 10 x then said OK NOW DANCE!! they just aimlessly move around. I know people who have paid thousands in ballroom dance lessons & can't keep dancing to the tempo no matter what? The waltz being the worst example of this along with any other type of dance....that is the same scenario when I hear some people play and cannot keep time. Now practice can help some people if taught correctly BUT, then again some people & through NO Fault of their own JUST DONT HAVE RYTHYM INSIDE them!!......its not their fault its the way they were born.
But I commend anyone who really tries to improve their chops & enjoys themselves doing it. We're not all the same.
